Pop World (2005)
18-year old girl, called Slavka, born in a small northern town, comes to Moscow - to become a singer or a real pop-star. She got no cash, but just the business card of one of the most famous music producer, called Larisa. But Slavka appears to be quite pushy, and gets herself on board Larisa. And suddenly psycho shock happens - 48-year old Larisa recognizes herself and her own youth in a teen age Slavka, who has the same fighter's nature...

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Beautiful, moving film.
If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
Terrific truthful film about the talents and admirers, about people who dream 2 enter the world of show business and of course about the black side of show business. Screenwriter and director worked for glory!!! Plus its stunning cast and great dialogue! Elena Velikanova as young Slavka was amazing! I like a lot of new wave of actors, its so fresh and so understandable for me and for my age... I like there r a lot of new, talented actors appeared in recent years Cause my generation don't have 2 feel deficiency of creativity! I adore wise finals and hate stupid «happy ends». And I am grateful to the creators for such clever final in this movie. If u haven't seen it i recommend to do it, its really exceedingly well!
In my opinion, the film left very interesting. In it there is all: a truthful life of the show business, interesting development of a plot, actors who, as well as possible approach for the roles. Therefore I wish to give particular attention to two actresses, played leading roles.Elena Velikanova, Mstislava, Slavka or as she of named — Santa. The girl from the provincial small town, playing a guitar. Acted at many competitions and after that has decided to go to Moscow to make the way on a platform, to prove to be. Partially it is possible to it, as, having arrived to Moscow, it comes to the woman who was at it in a city last year with the crooner — Tatyana Vasilevoj, to the person who can untwist practically any. She hardly agrees to help Glory and tries to advance it in show business.Very accurately and in correct light all problems rising on a way of the main heroine are shown. The film looked without tearing off a sight because it was interesting, than it will end. Therefore and an estimation to it.
