In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

Honesty and flamboyance don't go well together in any movie. You can't have flamboyant characterization for a honest story. If the director want to do a sincere cop movie, why does he has to give a james-bond type of characterization (I observed the similar mismatch in yesteryear's release Mallanna). The entire movie is divided into four parts - mother sentiment, speeches, action episodes and romance. The director succeeds in mother sentiment aspect. Speeches are partly good. Action sequences and romance part are negatives to the movie. There is a newspaper headline in this movie that reads as - elukanu pattina puli. After spending such amount of budget and creating huge hype, the final product delivered suit the headline mentioned above. On a whole, Komaram Puli disappoints despite of terrific performances of Pawan Kalyan and Saranya.

Komaram Puli has finally been released after much hype created since over past one year. Personally, I've been waiting for this movie since I loved Khushi (Surya & Pavan's combo). But Puli turns out to be a disaster:(There's more than few aspects that have gone terribly wrong here. Main drawback of the film is the introduction itself...Any movie casts it's first impression with it's opening scene. Too many graphics are used in Puli's intro scene. Pavan's birth scene appears extremely unconvincing. Pavan Kalyan's character becomes over-emotional in each and every scene, and his long stereotyped speeches (sankalpam unte blah blah) end up bugging the audience. First fight reminds an animation film. Camera work is overly glaring in all parts. I wonder why Surya tried to showcase even ordinary scenes in such a jarring manner. Dailogues are often more powerful than what the scene actually demands. Nikisha tried to impress with her oomph, but her makeup and costumes are bizarre in most scenes.Songs scored by A.R.R created a positive expectations before the release. But most of them were pictured weakly. Especially, 'Amma thalli' song has no relation between the actual song and picturization. Once again, camera work is experimental through out this song. This surely will remain the worst movie both in S.J.Surya's and Pawan Kalyan's careers.

To start with, the result of this movie is solely to be blamed onto the director S.J. Surya as is the case with his other movies. His direction is an absolute disaster. He completely failed in managing the movie's screenplay as the audience's patience is continually put to a test. The movie is like a clubbing of several parts, with all the scenes with the heroine put together and so are the scenes with the villain.Coming to the performances, Pawan Kalyan played an entirely new role as a Police officer when compared to his previous roles as a lover boy. He single handedly managed to hold the movie together and tried to bring the film to the audience. His dialogue delivery was simply awesome, however the repetition of some dialogues and the certainty of truth in them makes the audience feel like receiving a lecture. Nikeesha Patel on the other hand was just portrayed like a clown, with the director using her only to cast her in the songs. Speaking of the songs, A.R. Rehman the great academy award winner has failed for the first time with his background score, as the scenes are completely out of shape and the background score hasn't done anything to help its cause.Manoj Bajpai in his role as a villain is shown as the ruler of an entire state but the director failed in maintaining the uniformity of the role in the film throughout as the great villain in the first half turns completely into a cat in the second. Nasser and Charan Raj did well but that's all that can be said about their roles. I'd give this movie a 6/10 because of the performances from Pawan and Saraya who did justice for their roles. But the film is definitely not upto the expectations of the general audience as the previous combination of the duo of Kalyan and Surya--KUSHI was an all time blockbuster. Finally, the film could have been much better if the director tried to put some sense into the movie. However, certain positive elements like the dialogues(by the writer and Kalyan's delivery of them) is definitely observable.

This movie has an excellent background score / music from A R Rahman, the Academy Award Winner. The sets/locations in the movie are lavish and beautiful. But there is nothing much to the film excluding the much hype that is built around it before release. So, the film should count on its music and Pavan Kalyan's charisma! The storyboard of the film is cluttered and songs almost cut through the story. The songs come at irrelevant times in the movie. At times, the dialogs of the protagonist are as if he is to beat the record for fastest talking! Anyway the songs are pretty awesome. This is definitely not one of the best from either the director SJ Surya or the actor Pavan Kalyan. This movie could have been better.
