Private eye Roland Drake cracks cases and romances femme fatales in 1940's Los Angeles while corrupt cop Det Barry Tate rules the city. A tale told in the classic style of film noir. Drake has fallen on hard times in a harsh world. He has been evicted from his office and disgraced by a missing persons case. Ruined in the public eye and with the police. it seems like it's all over for Roland Drake. Then, redemption walks in - with curves. The owner of those curves is a sexy, dark haired beauty named Katherine Montemar. She wants his help. The chemistry is immediate and her concern for the disappearance of her family members pulls him into her case - and into bed.

Just a great movie. The performances were witty and dark. The film is well directed. It is a noir drenched treat. The story line had me and I just loved it. Director Konkle knows what he is doing here. Brittney Powell gives the best performance Ive seen her give. David Beeler is outstanding as Lew a character of surprising levels. All the technical limitations of what must have been a small budget transcend. The tone the effort is a complete joy to watchIts a treat and well worth a look.

It's such a long time since I've seen such poor acting. What promised to be a Sin City (esque) thriller turned into a wooden, awkward embarrassment. It may have been great after 10 minutes but I'd rather poke pencils into my eyes than have to endure any more.

Okay so I found this movie on YouTube and watched it on FandangoNow. I came here to look it up to see who was in it. I was surprised to see polarized reviews liking it (it was good) and others calling unwatchable or bad or whatever because it clearly isnt, sue me, I liked it. Then I looked at who was writing the terrible reviews of this film and I saw they gave 1 star to movies I loved like Black Panther one star to Wonder Woman and on and on just writing so I thought I'd write here and they wrote nothing but bad reviews so I thought. K I'm going to let it be known its a decent fim. Not perfect but fun and very good. especially if you like noir. The harsh critics that troll these indie movies are misleading and its like they saw a totally different movie than I did and if Id read these 1 star or two star reviews or whatever insults they said about the movie I would have missed a great little movie. No I dont write reviews here like they do so I am non in the movie or suspect just because I wanted to say I liked the movie I just hate seeing lies and insults.Don't believe these reviews all the time I guess I see they wrote bad reviews of all the movies they saw. Anyway, my two cents.

First off, I loved the movie. The costuming, sets, cars, all of it was awesome. My husband told me afterward that some of the backgrounds were digital, and I can say that I didn't realize it while watching. As an angst fan, I think this story works very well, especially with Drake's voice narrating and the letter at the end kept it within bounds without "fooling the viewer" in any bad ways.My favorite line is still, "Possibly..." The mystery part was creepy and cool. Rivers was amazing - brilliant acting (and directing) to achieve his part. I loved the hat flip trick.I was impressed with the love scenes, too. They were as different as the women were, but not awkward, and they had chemistry. When Drake said one was lust and the other was more, it was believable. The music was great and the banter between Drake and the women was tightened up perfectly. It flowed well, like a real conversation, without being too rapid-fire.I also liked the cabbie and the building handyman. Tom Konkle, all the cast, and especially Ms. Powell were excellent. Awesome work. I couldn't wait to own a copy and now I plan to get it for friends, too. Don't miss this one!
