It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

This movie was made with some of the best sound and print that you would expect from any movie, but is usually missing in not so mainstream gay movies. The lead actress reminded me of Sandra Bullock, something to do with her upper lip. Her mother was quite the hilarious little drama queen. The movie actually is pretty mild but contains probably the best male erotica scene of kissing that you will ever see. The female scene is better than average but not as hot as Aimee and Jaguar, which set the bar for all lesbian scenes. Of course this movie was made before Aimee and Jaguar. The whole movie plays on all those wonderful stereotypes of gays. I loved the guy whose father sent him to therapy and the silly gay church meetings. I knew a very wealthy kid who was sent to therapy by his socially connected mother because he was gay. After about two years the therapist finally told the parents there was nothing wrong with their healthy, young, gay son but there was probably something wrong with the parents. I do believe most of backwards America started waking up when the kid with AIDS was discriminated against in Indiana. I know the Death Lady (Dr. Keubler Ross)was run out of Virginia when she tried to open an AIDS hospice for babies. And I even had an acquaintance who told me that my brother should be dead since he has AIDS.But this movie is quite light, not deep and easily watchable by anyone. If you can't handle seeing men kiss you better go and hide. Otherwise, sit back and wonder if the lead character's husband wasn't just a little bit gay himself. No sex for six months? Please, the way he played with his hair in the reflection of the golf club makes me wonder. Especially since his wife only dated gay men.

So I settle myself down for a great gay movie from the distribution company that brought me "Defying Gravity" and the wonderful "Big Edin" and I had to struggle to make it through, hoping for a redeeming moment. It never came. The scenes that were supposed to be funny weren't, the one that were supposed to be touching weren't. I just never cared about a person, animal or plant in this movie. Maybe it was because it was poorly directed, acted, edited and written. Maybe it was just ill conceived, If anyone tries to convince you it is "in the water," ask for a different glass.

I am stunned that this movie received such high marks from the IMDB-using public. This is easily one of the most horribly-acted, derived, uninteresting, stereotypical movies I've ever seen. I dare you to click on ANY of the lead actors' names in the IMDB listing. They've done nothing! Not that success is determined by volume of work, but kids, let's not fool ourselves. If this movie was "universally praised at festivals all over the world", these people would have gone on to do something else besides episodes of "Walker, Texas Ranger" (with apologies to Chuck Norris). My friends and I laughed alright...laughed at how awful and stereotypical everyone was. (Laughed at how we'll never see that $4.00 rental fee again.) And I know some folks will argue that that was the point: they were supposed to be stereotypes. But there are so many inconsistencies and incongruities in the film that it's almost beyond discussion. (The painter, Tomas, doesn't even ask to be paid for painting an ENTIRE HOUSE?? And of course, the leader of the "ex-gay" group HAD to get caught coming out of a leather bar, in full leather regalia, have his picture snapped and spread on the front page of the local paper...didn't see that one coming six miles away.)Please, don't rent this film; it's mere existence is pointless, except to provoke commentary like this and to diminish my faith in the movie-viewing public.

This is one of the worst Gay or Lesbian movies I have ever seen! One cliche after another right down to horribly offensive stereotypes of both gay male and African Americans. The gay male characters are Badly acted, simpering wimpering, the black maid is right out of an Amos and Andy TV show. The only characters that seem even remotely believeable are the Lesbian characters, and even they are a stretch. The end of course features a simply awful black church choir (How's that for a stereotype in a movie)singing one of dem good ol gopel songs. Do not rent this movie!
