It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

I was so impressed with this film! The film paid attention to accuracy and authenticity. For a film made without a massive Hollywood budget this film translated as a richly deep film. I personally particularly liked the different portrayal of the gang. So nice to have different accents and personalities that would have reflected the real colonial era. The dancing scene was a particular favourite one of mine.

The amount of ten star reviews for this movie is so laughable. It's obvious they were given by people that were involved or knew somebody that was involved in this movie. You want to know which people? Just click on the names of the reviewers that gave a high rating and you will see that they only reviewed one movie. IMDb should not allow new reviewers to give a ten star review unless they continue reviewing afterwards. The Legend Of Ben Hall is just a mediocre movie. Only the settings like the landscapes were worth seeing. The acting is for sure not great, sometimes just okay but sometimes also bad. The story itself is a so-called true story. Well if that's the case there must have been alot of dumb Australians at that time. Everybody likes to see outlaws robbing banks, getting the money from them is like stealing from an even bigger thief. But these outlaws just rob normal people, and those same normal people just welcome them in their lifes, bars, houses. It's just too ridiculous for words. The action scenes are also very bad, the unlikeliness of outlaws escaping so easely everytime they get cornered is just too stupid for words. Believe me it was really bad. Add on that that the three outlaws look like they came straight out of a choir and don't look anything like dangerous and it's almost laughable. The movie is also extremely long for the story it is. You are litteraly waiting for it to end as fast as possible. I think I checked at least a dozen times to see how long I had to endure this movie even more. And when I read that this movie won some awards in Australia I'm really wondering with what other garbage it was competing. Don't waste your time on this one.

I Went to see this showing at a charity event at the Capri theatre, not my normal choice of movie (to go and watch) and was very pleased i did, i believe this film far surpass'es other stereotypical Aussie films, both in acting and production and quality camera work, and many other areas the subject matter and research show great effort, i was SO impressed i brought the Blue-ray/DVD/Special Feature 3 Disc collectors edition set , in the lobby after showing for 30 AUD plus ticket of 25 AUD $55.00AUD in total without regret ! , if your an Aussie like me and have felt somewhat embarrassed by past Aussie films on an international level, you need not about this film/little gem, as it is truly (World class) production. while the subject matter may steer you away from choosing this over other titles it is most definitely well worth the watch, and something all Aussie's could be proud of in being an Australia production, this film absolutely craps all over and leaves in the dust! , Mick Jagger's attempts at portraying Ned Kelly so many years ago (which is what springs to my mind when reading the cover prior to watching LOL) this is not in the same league or Class as that fizzer , at some points i'd forgotten i was watching a movie due to the intense immersion and relate-ability with the authentic on screen characters , they were very realistic 10/10 from me

This film is awesome. It captures the true history of our local legends and area as a lot of the film is set in Binda, Australia. Knowing the legend well and folk stories surrounding it, the makers and actors of Ben Hall are spot on. Well done and I wished it was longer!!! We also managed to put the movie on for two runs in Binda Hall and there was standing ovation at the end of each screening. If you want to see a bushranger / western movie that is authentic then this is it!!!
