Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

Movies in Chennai create a big expectation before they release, but its all gone to waste once it is released. Mankatha is a classic example for this. The movie had a mass advertising scheme, got some good actors but without the proper plot and the characters usage all the efforts made are gone to naught. The movie somehow reminded me about a 2008 Hollywood movie - "21", where blackjack is the story to revolve. And I don't know why people couldn't make a proper movie that is original and not partially copied.A disappointing performance from Ajith Kumar. This was not his best. Arjun and Trisha Kannan were good. Found some songs that are not connected to the story at all. My rating would be 2.5/10.

Film shines in Ajith style, after billa movie ajith really developed classic style in his acting, Mankatha film will appeal to all Thala fans for sure and will definitely be a hit among the masses. Thala Ajith in an all new 'Salt & Pepper' avatar is set to rock the screen and is doing so. The thala fans are going crazy to catch the Ultimate star in a stylish negative role, who uses a lot of bad words and steals money. Ajith entertains his fans unlike his previous duds. Here I give you the insight of the story. Ajith as plays the role of Vinayak Mahadev, a police officer, who gets suspended. Vinayak and Prithviraj (played by Arjun) are friends who also is a police official.Vinayak however stars working against the police department and forms his own gang. He poses threat to the police officers and Prthviraj ends up chasing Vinayak.Vinayak along with Sumanth and Prem (played by Vaibhav and Premji respectively) forms a team and they stars stealing money. As time passes by the gang of Vinayak gets caught one by one by Prithviraj. Although he wishes to catch Vinayak and plots ways he wouldn't be able to catch him. We got introduced to Sanjana (played by Trisha), who just appears in few scene in the movie as the love interest of Vinakyak, who is the daughter of the Villain, a Casino owner. Sanjana is used as bait to win over the casino owner and get the money.Vinayak who wins over lot of money and escapes with it. But there is a twist in the plot. To watch out for what the twist is all about one need to go the theater to catch Thala Ajith in action.

The film is the second highest grossing film after Endhiran. It deserves every bit of it.Thanks to Venkat Prabu and Ajith for giving the audience such a wonderful treat.Ajith acted superb to suit the negative character and Arjun as cop. Also the screenplay is well executed and there are many unexpected twists and turn in the movie.Even though there are very few flaws in the movie, its forgettable.Venkat Prabu tried hard to make this movie very fast moving and never allowed the audience to think about particular scene.Ajith's acting is outstanding and the way he delivers each and every dialogue are brilliant and a well deserved 50 th film for him.Verdict : The Real Entertainer

Mankatha is a true 'Entertainment Classic'.It is an adorable mix of Excellent Direction,Lead Performances, and Technical Perfection.Ajith, who has completed his 50th film has certainly done an excellent job and has managed to entertain his fans to the best possible way after a dull felt 'Aasal'.A big positive of the movie is that, all though Ajith's 50th film, all the actors were given ample screen space and platform to perform and the director requires a thumbs-up for boldly choosing a theme which portrays the actor in a negative shaded role, but making him the real king. The double climax of the movie has certainly proved out to be one of the best twisty ones in the recent times.A sure box office grosser,an 'Entertainment Extravaganza'.Ajith, fondly called as Tala, simply rocked the screens with his high-on-testosterone performance and has proved that he is the real 'Tala of action'.The psychic shades which is felt at times was amazingly portrayed by him.Action king Arjun has also given his best commitment and does an excellent job making his screen presence felt in par with Ajith, and even better at times, like during his intro.Ashwin Kakumanu,Mahat Raghavendra,Aravind,Vaibhav Reddy etc does good supporting performances and Premji Amaran dons the comedy department well.Trisha,Lakshmi Rai and Anjali have done their roles well even though their performances are shaded by the male leads. Some +ves::Thrilling Background Music,Good lead performances(All have done their parts well),Excellent climax and subsequent anti-climax. Direction by Venkat Prabhu without much loop-holes,It was nice to hear Arjun and Ajith referring to each other as "Action King" and "Thala" in the movie, respectively. Some -ves::A little drag in the first half,Some songs(Vaada Bin Laada,Balle Laka)seemed unnecessary and dull although the others were simply superb(Vilaiyadu Mankatha,Nee Naan,Machi Open The Bottle).Verdict::Mankatha is an example of all essential elements of a commercial entertainer-Action,Comedy,Music,Good Leads,Direction and Technical Perfection ,joining hands with each other.A must watch if you love entertainers. After all,its Mankatha Da"Ma Rating::8.5/10-Afsal
