Even Lambs Have Teeth (2015)

One of my all time favorites.

A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

I enjoyed the movie for what it was: 2 chicks get kidnapped and put inside crates outside, get sexually molested for days, manage to escape and then get revenge on their evil doers. Nothing more, nothing less. However a unique little addition to it was their uncle who came to the town to try and find them. This added some humor to the film.I'd classify it as a very dark comedy. It wasn't really funny until they escape and then it turns into a bloodbath and bad jokes. The movie is far from original, but has a lot to be enjoyed about it. I'd say if you enjoyed I Spit On Your Grave, you'll enjoy this film.Yes ISOYG is veru vulgar and pretty much a niche genre.

What sort of a world are we living in when the best thing men of a certain type can think of doing with young, attractive blondes is to rape them repeatedly then murder them? Thankfully the rapes are only implied, and they don't get around to the murders because the damsels escape.Those of a certain vintage will see the parallels with the 1978 film "I Spit On Your Grave", which was very controversial at the time. Forty years on, films of that genre have long since ceased to shock. Here we have two damsels exacting a bloody revenge on their abusers and would-be killers, and they don't do it by halves. The soundtrack isn't bad, and the cameos are quite good, especially the one with the twin elderly clerks: "My next ride is your Mom", indeed.This began as a thriller, turned into horror, then turned again, to black comedy. And they all lived happily ever after. Those who didn't die an excruciatingly painful death, one in the fashion of Edward II.

I found this on Amazon and it appeared to be promising which should have been my first clue that something was awry given that I discovered it on Amazon. As I said it started promising and the acting wasn't obviously awful and the movie low budget......at first. When things turn for the worse for the two protagonists of the movie it is like the film, the actors, the writers, everyone just gave up and the movie disintegrated into a -D list type of movie. At no point in time did I feel like the girls were in any sort of danger. The movie attempted to show their abuse at the hands of their attackers but their lack of tears, grief and their fresh out the salon hairstyles did not give off an air of despair. A situation that would have anyone in pure panic has them seemingly detached and bored as they deliver their lines like they are doing a reading. Once they are on the path of their "revenge" the movie rushes along and loses any sense of logical semblance and because it is done so poorly you really just don't care.4/10 and that is being extremely generous.

There was nothing special about this movie. The plot was used before, the acting wasn't great, there were no amazing special affects, and there was not much gore. Despite there being nothing special about the movie it was enjoyable. The plot has been used before and there were no plot twists. So don't watch this for the plot. There are some holes in the plot, but if you are not watching it for the plot they can easily be overlooked.The acting was not world class but it was much better than many movies I have seen. It did not sound like the actors were reading from a script so it was not a distraction.I think this was just a quick, fun little flick to kill an hour or so. I don't know if I would watch it again, but if someone turned it on I would not complain and would probably enjoy it again.
