Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

I liked how this film had 2 people from different worlds coming together to fight environmental corruption. It was like destiny in motion when the Inuit man felt the need to travel down to NYC and met up with the lady. It just so happened from pure luck that certain things were exposed to both individuals that came from the evil corporations who were hell bent on further destroying the lands and resources we all take for granted. Although there was really nothing either of them could literally stop the bad guys from further polluting and abusing the lands, air, water and natural resources, they did their best to expose the truth to the surrounding non-stop and clueless New Yorkers who only cared about what their daily cup of Joe about which celebrities were seeing who, who was getting hitched with who, who was breaking up etc. The last thing on the average New Yorker's mind was the environment and how it had to be saved from further destruction. Anyways... this film earns a 7 out of 10.

I found this small movie on Netflix streaming. It is a simple fictional story that had its roots in a real story a few years earlier. The premise is that an Inuit man, Theo, understands that the world is changing for the worse, because of man's pursuit of unhealthy consumerism above all, and he wants to travel 'south' to talk to the 'elders' about doing something before it is too late.Theo Ikummaq, real Inuit who actually works in conservation, is Theo. He shows up in New York without much preparation for what he will encounter there, however he is well-educated and speaks English. In a chance encounter homeless girl Dakota Johnson as Chloe rescues him and introduces Theo to her fellow homeless 'family.' They become sympathetic to Theo's message and cause and finally realize, the only place he might reach lots of 'elders' of various countries is at the UN. But that gets them into a bit of trouble which they escape with the help of wealthy doctor, Mira Sorvino as Monica. She only goes by Monica but in a scene where cops show her the business card they used to track them down it said 'Monica Ord', who is a real person and one of the producers of the movie. Ms Ord is an entrepreneur and consultant who had spent nearly two decades in the life sciences industry, helping develop promising therapies for HIV/AIDS and other immunological deficiency disorders.Another producer is the wealthy tycoon Richard Branson. If you judge the movie strictly against better fictional movies then it doesn't fare very well. The writing, acting, sound etc are not up to better movie standards. But if you look at it for the message it contains, the excessive consumerism most of us know vs the simple lives of remote indigenous peoples, like the Inuit, then it is a worthwhile commentary on the dangerous direction we are steering our world into.SPOILERS: In the end Theo was not able to get an audience with the UN, and in an ironic conclusion, Monica gave him a new pair of casual athletic shoes to wear around New York but two thugs accosted him, stabbed him to get his shoes, and he died.

And a child, shall lead them. Failing that, a guy from nowhere. But, synthesize that pair, and celebrate their judgment and acumen, and we have this manipulative mess. Pass, as quickly as possible.Deep feelings about nothing much, other than a naive world view, extremely politicized. No fun, no sex, no brain. The Wizard of Oz without the talent, which appears to have gone Somewhere Over The Rainbow.Do not bother. Reminds me of a girl and her dog story from the 1940's. The girl, under ten, and the dog likewise. Usually called Shep. Here portrayed as an Eskimo. Get him an ice cream. Leave the rest of us alone.

I have to say this film opened my eyes to the amount of ignorance we have toward humanity, it was well written with a great cast, it has a true meaning and those with a heart will be able to capture this meaning and see the world through the eyes of people who have genuine concern for not just the earth, but all those who exist in it. Thank you to all involved especially Theo who plays himself in the movie and Monica Ord a producer of the film and a true activist for the well-being of mankind. I recommend with parental guidance that this movie is for everyone. There is laughter and tears and I was able to bond with the characters unlike any other film I have seen in a long time . Please don't miss this one!!!
