This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

Jack (Andrew Simpson) is hitchhiking in France on a road with a known serial killer. He meets Véronique (Joséphine de La Baume) after she is tossed from a car in an argument. They in turn get picked up by Grizard (Frédéric Pierrot) who takes the couple home for dinner and to spend the night. His American wife Mary (Barbara Crampton) is also there. There is a lot that doesn't happen as we wait for something to happen. The film has a twist, one that is not uncommon to the genre. The feature is in part French and part English. I would recommend watching "House of 1,000 Corpses" instead. Soft 3 starsGuide: F-word, sex, nudity (Joséphine de La Baume)

As a fan of road/thriller movies, I saw this without watching the trailer or reading anything bout it. Was pleasantly surprised how good this movie was. Its a very good thriller with lots of twists n turns. Nice star cast, good acting, amazing cinematography, nice music, decent screenplay and an awesome direction n editing by Abner Pastoll. The lead actress Joséphine de La Baume is voluptuous and gorgeous. It is beautifully shot with fantastic French countryside. The fields, the forests, the rural roads, the pond (where she bathes naked), the cottages (the one from where Andrew Simpson picks up the golf club), they all lead to a nice build up. The movie is backed up by an excellent score with pulsing elements. It has fantastic picturesque locations and moody sets. The killer was not shown but the tension was created throughout. Even the slower scenes which focused on characters were able to hold up the anticipation. Barbara Crampton did a decent job of creating mystery to her character. One movie which came to my mind while watching this was High Tension. Maybe because of rural France or the psychological aspect. This movie is much better than The invitation n 10 Cloverfield lane.

What the heck was Andrew Simpson thinking when he accepted to play in this B-movie ? Same time, thank god he's in, otherwise these Road games would have been totally unwatchable ! The story itself is interesting, but both directing and acting are terrible and make no sense at all. And there is a huge problem with Josephine de la Baume : You can't hear anything she says, she whispers all along, so French ! Don't waste your time even if non precious with this B-movie ! Hitch must be turning in his grave. I agree with Toecutter0 : the score will settle there after a few weeks, perhaps a month after other, older viewers log in and cast their votes, scoring this title more fairly across the entire age spectrum. Watch those scores!

This film came to me as a total surprise! I wasn't so sure what to expect but it was intriguing and kept me hooked until the end.I really needed to know the ending! The best part of the film is the ensemble acting.Outstandding performances, especially Frederic Pierrot is definitely the strong point of the film. The film turned into a smart psychological thriller from a sweet beginning.I keep thinking about it. I don't think it's a perfect film but it really keeps making you think.By submitting this review you are agreeing to the terms laid out in our Copyright Statement.
