The Hunt for Eagle One (2006)

To me, this movie is perfection.

I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

I was surprised to hear Filipino language in a movie being shown on star movies and that is why I watched this film. Sad that it is about the fight against the rebels though and not about the good culture or nature that Philippines has. It is a pity that not all lines spoken in Filipino were subtitled so it will not be surprising if people who don't understand the language react badly -- it is hard not to on something you can't understand well. Also, if you are used to watching really good war effects, this movie will really disappoint you cos it won't give you that -- instead, this movie will make you see something more realistic, something that you may really see in a real combat with the rebels. It is also a pity that I didn't see much acting to think that the movie actually got Ricardo Cepeda who is a really good Filipino actor. But as a whole, this film is not all that bad. This film actually made me respect soldiers better.

One of the few films I've rented which i haven't actually watched to the end, I couldn't. This film is one of the worst I've seen for a long time, there are no special effects, no storyline, zero acting skills. The lack of a military adviser if blindingly obvious from the very first frame of the very first scene when the platoon of marines row their boats onto the shore in open daylight. Then run across the beach in a mindless rabble. From there things go from bad to worse, poor archive helicopter footage spliced in with even worse shots from within the cockpit. As an example one shot uses one type of helicopter (westland), then the next shot we see two totally different helicopters!(Huey) What were they thinking. The whole thing is a total failure, its not even entertaining as a mindless action film. For anybody that is thinking of watching this film, don't waste your time. I feel dirty giving it even 1/10.

The Hunt For Eagle One, a film by Byran Clyde, is another generic action flick of the likes of Navy Seal or Iron Eagle. Not that's it's really bad, just average. It was nice to see Theresa Randle in a film (I enjoyed her performance in Beverly Hills Cop III). And Mark Dacascos did a good job too as Lt. Matt Daniels. The real problem for me is that this is all about the special effects (which for this low budget flick is pretty good - the explosions are even top-notch in certain places - i.e. when one of the helicopters blew up in the beginning) and because it's only about that, there's no character emphasis or development. Which makes me not very sympathetic with the main characters - for example, at the very end of the film when Lt. Daniels mourns for his fallen comrade, I really didn't fell attached (since I didn't get to know that fallen comrade). 5 out of 10.

We got a black hawk d...ops i meant eagle one down. The actors in this movies is actually not that bad but the story is really poor. They have really bad education on tactical movements and remind mostly of actors trying to be soldiers. their cqb tactics are to all run in a big bunch.Their weapons are really really wrong. The most disturbing is a guy using a redpoint on top of a m16 carry handle AND a high mount so its like in the forehead..very annoying. And he is their sharpshooter..it gave me a headache.The pilot is probably a super soldier because even after torture and being smacked around her haircut is in perfect condition.the so called regular army don't have battle vests at all i guess the budget was used up.Rugter has no real role in this movie they just wanted his name in the movie.You should go for another movie if you like war movies. If you don't know anything about war and weapons and just want something to look at while eating popcorn Sunday 4 in the morning i guess its OK to fall asleep to.
