This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

It is obvious that the director intended to include every possible bad horror movie cliché as some sort of post-modern wink to horror audiences, but, there is a reason that people criticize movies that use these clichés. Possible spoiler alert1. Rural characters that know about killer zombies, but still live there. 2. Stupid teenagers getting high, doing stupid things, making bad decisions and then becoming cannon fodder. 3. A film set in a specific region that has a specific accent, but the characters speak in some sort of generic southern hill accent that bears no relation to where the movie is set. And the architecture is very unwestern Pennsylvania as well. 4. Car gets stuck in mud. 5. Flashlight only works sporadically. 6. Kid has imaginary friend that is supernatural in origin. 7. Against all logic, people go searching in dangerous places where many people have died, alone, at night, with that great anti-ghoul device, the sporadically working flashlight. 8 Teenage girl trips when running. 9. Truck won't start. 10. People keep shooting at zombies, instead of running away, even though they have observed that bullets have little effect. 11. At the end of the movie, the main characters are barely touched by their experience, driving away happily to their next phase, even though they have clear proof of the supernatural and they have watched several people mutilated including a boyfriend. Their neighbor will clean everything up, and there will be no downstream consequences of several people dying, including friends.Argggh.

Moving to a new house in the woods, and woman and her two children find that the area is home to a group of vicious ghost-like children who are seeking revenge for a past misdeed and must find a way to appease them and end their rampage. This one turned to be quite an above-average effort with a lot to really like about it. One of the better elements with this is the rather creepy leads where which is quite impressive for all sorts of reasons. Not only do they have a creepy air about them being demented children after all, so the make-up is effective but the general sense of their being so many of these kids running around makes for some pretty chilling times. This also makes the action scenes all the more enjoyable by putting these creepy villains into these rather fun and thrilling sequences, as scenes like the attack on the couple in the car out in the forest or the later scenes of the family running through the woods and stumbling upon the different houses certainly makes for some thrilling moments and plenty of action that allows this one to get a lot of rather exciting action scenes among it's creepier elements. The finale in the barn for the most part here is rather fun as the revenge comes to fruition in a series of tense, thrilling chases with all sorts of exciting confrontations and rather chilling action which settles the plot line quite well. That ties in with the opening cave-in and the resulting echoes of that rather nicely, and along with the suspense from the woods and the numerous ghostly whispers echoing through the landscape make up the good points here. There's not a whole lot really wrong here, as about the only flaw to be found is the everlasting angle of whether the kids are ghosts or zombies, and it's not a great job of either. Despite the repeated claims of them as zombies, only their bullet invincibility remains here with very little other evidence to the contrary. Likewise, their use of tools and overall appearance say they're ghosts but none of their other actions scream ghost either and makes the film really confused about what they are. Along with the troublesome point of having a lot of scenes filmed too dark to make anything out, this is really the film's only flaw.Rated R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

There are thirty-two Horrorfest films, AKA 8 films To Die For. As someone who has seen roughly a dozen of them, I can tell you that they have all been really good or just awful. There is no in-between with this series, and unfortunately Wicked Little Things falls on the awful side. I had high hopes for this film, as it has a great back story and features Kick-Ass's Chole Moretz in her debut role, but the film moves far too slowly and plays too much like an R.L. Stein book. Following the death of her husband, a woman moves her two daughters to an old house in the middle of nowheresberg, Pennsylvania. The house they move into used to belong to an evil millionaire, who owned the local mine, and used child laborers, many of whom died in accidents. The souls of those kids aren't at rest and they don't like having a new family in their house, so they lure anyone within range, into dangerous situations. I was surprised that the acting in this film was actually pretty good and that some of the scenes in the woods are pretty edge of your seat, but the problem here is that nothing really happens. If it wasn't for the older daughters over use of the F bomb, this film really could have been rated PG. I love the back story and the acting wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, but do you really want to watch a "Horror" movie that moves at a snails pace and really doesn't show much? I don't!

An owner of a mine uses child slaves, and after an explosion, a group are buried alive. Flash ward a few years and Karen Tunny has just lost her husband due to terminal illness. Without any money, she moves with her daughters to the old house in the mountains that belonged to her husband. She is advised by her neighbours to stay at home during the night, and there are stories of zombies in the area. When Her youngest becomes friend with Mary, her mother believes she is an imaginary friend. However, when her other daughters friends are attacked and eaten by zombie children and Her youngest vanishes. She decides to make the film a little more interesting...Despite the okay cast, this has to be one of the most boring and mundane things I've endured in such a long time.Banging doors, jump scares and freaky kids are all here, and don't forget the young girl who can speak to the dead. The guy from Chariots of Fire looks severely unimpressed by his choice of career, and of course, there's some bad guy who wants to build a ski slope. It's all a little bit Scooby Doo come the end, and it doesn't help that the kids look like French Mimes.I was waiting for one of them to pretend to be stuck behind an imaginary mirror.Pants.
