It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.

This is one of the best comedies I have ever seen. I don't remember to laugh so hard at another movie (except Begnini's scene from Night on Earth). Luckily I saw it on DVD, because in the second half of the movie (especially the last two shows scenes) I laughed so hard that I had to stop the movie several times (laughing so hard that my tears were flowing). Highly recommended, there are no movies like that anymore (unfortunately).I don't know why they don't make anymore comedies who cam make you laugh :) . I personally don't remember to see anything like this one for at least ten years (maybe twenty).

Director Lloyd Fellowes (Michael Caine) is panicking over the Broadway opening of his play "Nothing On". The movie flashes back to the final dress rehearsal in Des Moines, Iowa six months ago. Actress Dotty Otley (Carol Burnett) has put her life savings into the play and brought in senile alcoholic mentor Selsdon Mowbray (Denholm Elliott). She's sleeping with younger co-star Garry Lejeune (John Ritter). Frederic Dallas (Christopher Reeve) is questioning every move after his wife left him. Lloyd is sleeping with clueless Brooke Ashton (Nicollette Sheridan) who keeps losing her contacts but he's also sleeping with stage manager Poppy Taylor (Julie Hagerty). Belinda Blair (Marilu Henner) rounds out the cast in the play and Tim Allgood (Mark Linn-Baker) is the stagehand worked to the bone. Later, there is the famous matinée in Miami Beach where everything goes haywire as relationships blow up.The play within the movie is a rather unfunny British farce. That may be the point of the movie but it's not funny to watch. It's a lot of slamming doors, running around and people speaking in various levels of semi-British accents. In contrast, the behind the scenes with Noises Off is a frantic fun ride. It's a throwback to the silent era slapstick and it's wonderful. I may not be following everything but it's loads of fun anyways. It's a great 20 minutes but the rest is not as much fun.

I can legitimately say that Noises Off is one of my favorite movies of all time. If you have never seen it, be prepared for what you're about to experience. The first time I watched this with my extended family we were all crying with laughter. It takes a few minutes to get going. The first act is funny in its own right. It has lots of well-written lines, the "play within the play" is enjoyable and it lays the necessary groundwork for what is to come: the second and third acts. And even with all that preparation, when that second act gets rolling and everything starts to go wrong, the laughs absolutely do not stop. The physical comedy in this movie is sublime: tightly choreographed and timed to perfection. Every actor has a great part to play. My personal favorite has to be John Ritter's character. All of his "you know"s and "I don't know"s kill me. Michael Caine and Carol Burnett are also standouts. But every cast member gets laughs, and for good reason. There are so many quotable lines from this movie. I think my sister and I could literally quote 75% of this movie. There are a couple of dings that I have to mention. The framing narrative, with its rushed "happy ending" on Broadway, wasn't in the original play and feels totally out of place. After you've watched it 20+ times you may want to fast forward to the second act. But even so, Noises Off is a hidden 90's classic. Highly recommended.

One of the best comedies of '92! I remember seeing this movie when I was nine years old and I still remember every part of it today. this movie has such a good cast that includes Michael Caine, Nicollete Sheridan, John Ritter, Christopher Reeves, and many others. This is Michael Cains, John Ritters, and Christopher Reeves best movie team up. Nicollete Sheridan is such a blonde in the movie, When everyone else is winging it she is the only one who is sticking to the script. You will laugh as soon as the movie begins until it ends. So many funny parts! Doors and Sardines. Its a movie that you'll just love to watch over and over! There is so much that happens on stage and offstage you'll be surprised if they even make it through opening night. I recommend seeing this movie if you have a theater concentration in college.
