I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review

This movie isn't surreal and dream-like as some of David Lynch's work (like Mulholland Drive), nor is it visually entertaining. It's neither suspenseful nor intriguing. It's just senseless and illogical. There are some very good actors, but otherwise, there's nothing positive I can say about it. I'm not sure why Anthony Hopkins wanted to make something like this, I would have expected something better from such a great actor. After all, when great actors like Charles Laughton in his later years directed a movie, it turned out to be excellent. My advice to anyone thinking about watching this? Don't waste your time, there are plenty of better movies to see.

If there's a movie, which is directed and written by the same guy who also acts and composes the music in it, of course I'm going to watch it - especially when that man is someone who I admire. After reading about the movie, I was pretty sure I shouldn't expect simple plot, simple storyline. I was right, the plot is very complex, and it felt like it was layered, even if that's too simply described. I enjoy complex, layered plot, but of course it doesn't always work. It wouldn't work in thriller or adventure or anything like that, but it works for experimental drama like this. The special effects are one of the things I'm very critical about. Mostly because they could easily cause headache, and I think the movie should have some kind of epilepsy warning on it. But the effects worked pretty well – they strengthened the dreamlike atmosphere the movie had almost all the time. Also, it's very hard to explain the plot without giving too much away. It's mostly sitting there, watching, trying to figure out what's happening, and then suddenly it's "oh" and you can see it so much better. This basically means that you have to watch the movie at least twice to completely understand it, to figure out perfectly what is happening and what probably isn't happening, etc. One kind of special thing about Slipstream was the music. Because while I was watching the movie, I didn't really pay attention to it. It was there, but it didn't draw my attention from what I was seeing. But I liked the movie, I liked it very much. Anthony Hopkins seems very talented writer and director, as well as composer.

Warning! Contains a spoiler! I watched this film and find it very confusing. Storyline was really mixed up and it was hard to understand at first. It was like Alan Wake game, but only more confusing. I don't recommend this film to anyone who likes direct storyline. I find it very strange when this so called writer just sat in his car and the crazy guy shot thru his windshield and the young woman was sleeping and she was not even bothered. Another strange scene was when younger hat man shot black bartender in bartender's car. The reason was what? When these two hat guys went to diner at the desert then the movie become the strangest, they was acting very weird. After that scene I realized that they were filming this film Slipstream, enough confusing eh?

This movie is once again, one of those movies that someone thinks or tries to make others think that they understood it. Anyone who tries to make any sense of this is a MORON! My advise would be to take TWO not one but TWO hits of very strong acid and at least you'll get a visual thrill out of it!! Although at the end you may kill yourself for wasting your acid!!!! Being that this comment requires 10 lines of info, let me write something for those of you that will try to defend the movie. Unintelligble. Garbage. Schitzoid. Waste of talent. Movie is ice, with paper on destination with ringing clouds, on a sunny dive in the pudding.... Sounds like lion in a red light with seeing hair. Now explain that to me!!!!
