It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

So.... apparently there was no plan, the final 5 and many copies of Cylon agents ended up in the fleet due to "bad luck", a 1:10^70 chance or worse (How/why the hell he planted 3 copies of no. 6 into the human population when the mission of Caprica 6 was that important is beyond me.. and 2 copies of no. 6 on Galactica? Do the humans have eyes?). Brother Cavil can take Elen from the planet via a raptor into the fleet but can not shoot her or bring biological weapons in teeth/clothes there because reasons... or nukes... you know.. fake colonial raptors....(and look at the miniseries - now we know that he had real time picture of the colonial solar system...so he allowed the fleet to form and forgot about doing that in a minute....+ Ragnar....or ... oh yes, coincidence) He can orchestrate the downfall of an entire civilization, has an armada so strong that it can kill and cremate 50 billion people in a day but he can't manage basic things. Unbelievable. In the end.. wait for it... God did it all.

I was a great fan of the series and bought the DVD's as soon as they were available. This, however, was a real let down. It was almost more like a budget saving "clip show" than a movie. There was nothing new, no revelations, no finally uncovered PLAN. It was just a rehash of everything you knew before. It was nice to see Edward James Olmos direct again and there were some new scenes (heavily mixed with clips).I'm certain there are some great movies that could be made based on the series. Unfortunately this was not one of them.

Yuck.Okay, the review rules won't let me use just one word, so I will elaborate. After a brilliant original series, I found the follow up very disappointing. It was boring, confusing and it did not add anything to the original. It came across as a weak attempt to gain more mileage from BSG, without spending any serious thought or time on the writing. It lacked the edge, tension and quality of the original. Even though I am a huge BSG fan, I turned this OFF before it was over!!! I also agree with one of the reviewers that mentioned that anyone who has not seen the first several seasons of BSG will be totally lost. My daughter attempted to watch it with me (she had not seen the original) and she bailed even before I did.

I was ready for an entire reworking of the show. I was hoping for some really incredibly deep revealing of the Cylons plan.Instead I saw scenes literally from the show with a few new scenes shoe-horned in to try and explain a few things and to show us a few of the scenes from the perspective of the cylons. If this had been shown on TV as just one more episode I might not have minded, as it did have a few interesting bits, it explained Cavil and the doctor cylons a little better. But to call this a separate "movie" was unfair to us. Especially after they did a pretty good job of pulling off Razor a few years ago. This seemed like nothing more than a filler/clip show - but since it wasn't on TV, they also decided they could throw in naked women and a gratuitous sex scene for all the 13 year old hetero boys they seem to think would be their audience.Intelligent adult viewers don't get much more from this travesty. Avoid unless you're a "completist" avid fan who must see it. Otherwise, go in with low expectations and don't expect much new material.
