It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

I love snow horror films, especially the ones that feel very isolated, and claustrophobic . John Carpenter's 'The Thing', Misery come to mind. Pontypool(2008) is one of my favorite snow horror films(Canada). Stephen McHattie is perfect as Grant Mazzy the local AM Radio DJ/Morning show host. Highly recommended.

There is no way I would have watched this movie if it was not recommended as a suggestion on Criticker or some article on the web. The movie is terribly slow to start. For the first 30 minutes you are actually begging for the movie to come alive. When it does, it does not make a lot of sense in spite of how hard you try. The entire movie never really leaves the radio station office and you will actually feel claustrophobic. The core of the movie seems implausible or not well handled. You keep wondering something will happen and make your time worth it till the end but nothing does. Just an utter waste of time. When I watched it, the movie was rated 6.8/10 on IMDb. I gave it 3. I guess it is one of those movies that people just love or hate. There is no middle ground here.

Sorry, have i watched the same film as the other reviews. This film is dire. Apart from pretty poor acting from everyone especially the doctor (who is ridiculous) the concept is utterly stupid. Leaving aside the fact that zombie films in general are fantasy when the "reason" for the "outbreak" is revealed i was like. What? Seriously. Is this a joke? Speaking of which, it isn't the slightest bit funny. I don't know what this amusing film Pontypool is. The dialogue is so bad with all the reports and news going out of it's way to be as descriptive as it can and therefore not in the slightest bit real. It sounds like it was adapted fro a radio play. A good percentage of reviews say more or less the same thing's and i absolutely disagree will all of them. I almost turned it off but there was 20 minutes to go so i stuck it out and the ending IS EVEN WORSE. One of the worst films i have ever seen, zombie (whatever)or otherwise. I don't know how anyone agreed to have this film made. I no it's supposed to be "different" but you can't make it different by thinking of the first stupid thing that comes into your head and go with it even though it makes no logical or scientific sense, again, leaving aside the genre in general. So disappointed and very confused with the other reviews.

Thanks to a friend that recommended this movie I got to see how amazing this underrated film is. As the horror genera plots are very saturated, this movie takes a new angle.I had no expectations at all nor did I read what it was about ,I saw it and it blew my mind, this movie feels more like an intellectual film rather than a simple horror movie as it makes you think and use you imagination, a lot of it is tell rather than show as you have to paint images in your mind to get an idea of what's going on, it builds more in suspense and tension instead of shocking visuals and gore. Think of a cross between Orson Wells war of the worlds and George Romero night of the living dead. It can feel claustrophobic at times as most of it takes place in a basement with a blizzard going out side, the cold tones and the dark surroundings with a creepy atmosphere are all over the place it keeps you wanting to find out what's out there. My explanation or trying to understand what's the virusThe virus is part of that world, is an invisible entity and dose undeniably exist, the characters are aware of it. A event just happened and we will never understand it, it's a phenomenon if it defies logic then we disbelieve in its existence, accepting things we will never fully know the answer it's unquestionably, it's simply just a fact. In actual history there's what we know and there's a lot of it we don't understand
