Just perfect...
Don't listen to the negative reviews
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Alien Abduction is an Alien themed found footage film and of this much maligned sub genre, its a very good film. The film involves a typical American family going on a road trip up Brown Mountain (North Carolina), where reports of glowing lights in the sky have been reported by many believable witnesses in real life. This of course forms the background to the film, as well as some of the plot's subject matter. The actors in the film are all excellent and do a believable job. I don't get why some of the other reviewers panned this film; perhaps they have grown tired of the found footage sub genre. I thought this films was definitely one of the better found footage films out there. If you've never seen such a film before, this is a good place to start.
When it comes to films that i haven't heard of, Alien Abduction was one of them. Being a found footage horror fan, i was interested to see what this movie had to offer. I am a fan of the Alien sub genre in the horror department and although Skinwalker Ranch (another found footage alien horror film) had its moments i still felt like it missed an opportunity. However, where Skinwalker Ranch fails and Alien Abduction succeeds, is in the tension that the movie manages to create while never really letting go. You can feel the characters panic and you sense a genuine feeling of terror whenever the Aliens are on the screen! It never gets side tracked in any side stories, which gives the feeling of a relentless assault in a very strong fashion that wont allow you to catch your breath. Being a low budget horror film, it was a very impressive looking. The acting was good and the characters, although cardboard cutout, were not so unlikable that you couldn't stand them. Overall, its a simplistic film that has tricks up its sleeve that you have seen before, but its simplicity done very well, therefore managing to create something both fun and scary!
One of the worst movies I've seen in a while.Pathetic acting and pathetic reasoning by the actors due to pathetic writing. Let's hide in another man-made structure because they will never think that we would run from one easily found place to another! Unless of course some douche like Robert Lewis is calling the shots....We can lose them by screaming constantly and waving flashlights around!I cant write anymore, it's just too painful recollecting every single pathetic minute of that terrible movie.Do yourselves a favour people, skip this trash and watch paint dry, it will be more exciting.
Let me start by saying this: I rate movies based on the genre, acting and technical work. I might rate a sci-fi 10, and then go on to rate The Shining 9. Different genres has different criteria! Now for Alien Abduction.I don't scare easily, so when I started this movie, I were expecting some cheap laughs, and no real horror-moments.Well, I have to say I were fooled! This movie actually succeeded in scaring me several times, and the acting is pretty good.I thought I'd had enough of "found tapes" movies, but I definitely want more now! I rate this 7, because it's one of the better movies of the genre. Worth a watch!
