This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

I watched this when I was a watcher of Disney channel. And after discovering Thomas Mcdonell in the 100, I didn't realised he was the bad boy. I had to watch it again. This is a perfect teenage life story movie. The highs and lows of high-school, the highs and lows about romance and the future. Everything that someone could experience during high-school was in this movie. The fact that the good girl had to work with the bad boy, and changed him, was perfect. Fairytale romance. Even though Thomas Mcdonell is in his late 20's, he still plays the perfect teenager. I loved the moral of his story, never judge a book by it's cover. One normal girl could change a boy.

Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden) is busy organizing the senior prom hoping to be asked out by Brandon. However, Brandon isn't asking and the decorations get all burnt up. Nobody has the time to help, and the school principal forces the misunderstood bad boy Jesse Richter (Thomas McDonell) to help redo all the decorations. There is really only two things anybody needs to know about this movie. It's about prom, and it's made by Disney. It has the potential for a John Hughes lite teen movie. The kids are all adorable if mostly amateurish. The story has no bite. It's a movie on the edge of the pass fail line.

This was really a surprisingly good movie. The acting was good and there were some really well developed characters. There was the pretty smart girl, the tough guy with the big heart, the geek without a date and the bumbling newbies to the school. There was also some very funny and well thought-out scenes. The guy with the imaginary Greek girlfriend really cracked me up, "She's not allowed to have a Facebook profile because she got grounded for clubbing too late".Also, the tough guy story was also very believable and the working relationship with him and the smart girl was very well done.I am surprised that users would give this movie a negative rating. Our whole family enjoyed it. (2 adults and 3 kids. The cat watched only half the movie)

This is certainly not one one of those silly high school movies with nerds, foolishness and mayhem. Instead, it is a serious look at the coming of age among graduating high school students and what prom means to them-not only the fun associated, but it is certainly a coming of age film.Of the variety of stories told among the seniors, the most poignant, of course, is the one involving Nova and Jesse. She is the top student and he is looked up with disdain. When circumstances bring them together, she is able to bring out the better qualities that he does possess. This film is intelligently done and an absolute pleasure to watch. This film is also a coming of age of maturity and even those who might be nerd-like find their way in this very interesting film.
