It's hard for me to be critical of any of Demi Moore's movies since I have been a long time fan. She reminds me so much of Grace Kelly in the sense her beauty at times overshadowed her talent. Now that she has gotten older her talent is forefront-just as the case with Kelly- and how it should have been all along. The movie has been covered in great detail by other reviewers so I'll simply say that Demi Moore was convincing as the lead actor and the film does resemble a Hitchcock revolving plot line. It had me fooled until the very end-although I thought something was up-just not sure what it was.I kind of got a 'Wicker Man' type feeling with all the wonderful scenery and perhaps Lord Summerisle would show up to explain everything.Well done!

it is beautiful, touching and impressive. recreation of atmosphere, fragile connection between death and life, delicate love story and nice performance of Demi Moore are good points. only problem - mixture between Gothic and crime, a story with too many ornaments, not really credible. but the final taste is warm. the final image, like the horses on beach or shell in sand are end of a circle out of ordinary recipes. because the key is touching poetry of this movie about past error, expectation and need of real answer to a long, heavy expectation. that is solution who makes it more than piece of a chain. but the power son remains. so, just a correct film. but not more.

Not much to say about Craig Rosenberg since he had not worked much before this movie as a director, or since this movie's release. His minor credits are public knowledge on the IMDb. The film is poorly edited and jumpy at times, there is also problems with the lighting and framing (which I thought might be on purpose, but I cannot see why so many shots are mis-framed). This film came along after Ms. Moore had not worked in several years, and whether that was by choice or not, the first film back probably did not give her many options. She is a fine actress and she does the best with what she had to work with. In fact, I cannot really see where any of the actors did not do their job and try to sell this film. The real problem behind this film is that it is just rehashed plots from different films. The ending is rushed and not thought out, neither is it set up by the end of the second act--which it should be with such a twist--which is a betrayal of the audience. In the end the fault is with the director and screenwriter, and like his screenplay "The Uninvited" this film is uninviting....

I had honestly hoped this would be somehow inspirational , but it's not. Best parts the videography which appears to be electronic HD. Love the sea scenes. Hate the stupid and mawkish love affair. She should have gotten into a high level interaction with the village psychic. Instead always in bed with a bed able man. Wow.. is this not pathetically predictable. The script could also have dealt with her sanity and the small edge she (the central female character) found herself on. It could have been more a grief issue with her young son. But, not a cheap twist of writing to appeal to the less than intelligent. Now, toward the end this whole pathetic mess becomes a farce, because the screen writer was not intelligent enough to give an original and challenging screen play. Just another predictable well heeled authoress with time on her hands. I really wish I had spent the 138 plus minutes in some other way.It amazed me how hollow and unimaginative HolloW wood writers can be and still get paid. The music was excellent, sentimental, predictable and well over shot intellectually the whole mess of a movie.
