n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.

Three words could describe this film, "Zombie Nazi Stormtroopers." Lena (Catherine Steadman) has spent her life hunting Nazi war criminals with her parents. She has one top dog left: Klausener (David Gant). Well it just so happens Klausener has created a magnetic zombie stormtroopers machine and is slowly taking over Eastern Europe. Lena gets caught in a war between the Stormtroopers and NATO.The soldiers weren't zombies in the modern movie sense, although they pretty much acted like it and meet the definition. The film did not have the scare value of a horror film, but was more akin to an action/war film with zombies. Lena teams up with Wallace (Richard Coyle) to hunt them down.I am not as excited about this film as I am other recent zombie films because it lacks the horror. The plot, sets, special effects, and acting were all par for this type of production. I enjoyed "Gangsters Guns & Zombies" more than this film. For a really good zombie film check out the new "Night of the Living Dead."Parental Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.

Outpost, the original was watchable and a good honest, original idea. This incarnation, the sequel is a botched attempt at something, not sure what, maybe the actors got together to make a type of CV of their skills (which is pretty low judging by this) The acting, the accents and the plot are dire.Furthermore, the story jumps and flits about like a grasshopper in mid summer and the only aim is to reach the end of the movie with room for a sequel….Oh dear.No connection between events and the lunacy of the idea to make a sequel is plain to see. Then, consider the special effects; I reckon a group of students clubbed together and chipped in £50 a piece to make a pseudo CV of their talents; amounting to about 0.5 / 10 Someone, somewhere must have stumped up hard cash for this drivel and I can only question their sanity for doing so.I will soon be viewing the 3rd installment

OUTPOST: BLACK SUN I didn't think I would enjoy this one. It reeked of straight to video and I'm not a fan of 'modern day Nazi zombies on the loose' franchises, of which (this may just be my imagination) there seem to be many. However, this sequel to 2008's original 'Outpost' was a lot of fun. The gloomy, surreal, fairytale woodland setting and the well-utilised Nazi zombies (who also made an appearance on stage and scared families and tourists away from a visit to London ever again by patrolling outside the cinema for a while), were mostly hidden in shadow, and ensured the film remained a genuinely creepy experience. The battle scenes were well portrayed and the acting was fine and funny in the right moments. There were some well-realised special effects of mad scientist Nazi death rays and the electric blue detonation where the sound went muffled, like we had all been deafened, had me worried for a few moments - a nice touch.Great setup for a sequel. I may even be watching! mark gordon palmer

Although i enjoyed this film, i must admit it does not have the spirit of the original and am hoping the 3rd in series will make up for it. In the original outpost, the Nazi's were intimidating without needing to be on screen much. They appeared when least expected or if expected appeared in glimpses out of corner of eye or in reflections until they ripped your head off suddenly and with menace (can you rip off someones head in an un-menacing way?)Much as the follow ups to Jaws franchise, outpost 2 seemed to assume that now the viewers have seen the killer, they will not be happy unless they see it a lot more, and although the suspense and limited viewing of the shark with occasional jump out of seat moments as the film progressed is what made it such a hit, follow up films ignored this fact completely and made no suspense and showed the shark so often that there were no jump out of seat bits, and unfortunately outpost two producers like many decent horror sequels have fallen into the same trap. The Nazi zombie army seem to be just that, an army rather than spiritual entities, patrolling their bunker rather than haunting it, attacking rather than just appearing out of nowhere and killing before disappearing again, totally ignoring what made the first film a surprise hit and not trying to scare at all.I have given it a score of 7 mainly for keeping same character base and attempting to follow up on the original, but in fairness to reality it probably should have been a 6. I really enjoyed the 1st oupost, and much as I liked the idea of a follow up it was not as enjoyable as anticipated. I can only hope that the producers of the currently in production outpost 3 look back at the original, realize what made it so enjoyable and work again along those lines rather than as anticipated make same mistake they did with the follow up and make just another Nazi zombie film with an OK story and no scares.
