Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

I don't know why people complain about this movie probably i have only read the comments of women because this movie PERFECTLY DESCRIBES WOMEN as they are in real life a can watch this movie over and over without being bored even for a second. Its a story about a guy who finally find what he wants in this world but of course women aren't able to love so they go for the money its a movie about what is in the head of a man and how the 21st century works so if you complain about it you are either too old for it or don't like the truth but there is no way at least that's my opinion that someone should say this movie is stupid. Ashton played good like always i cry every time i see the ending.

Ashton Kutcher costars with the beautiful Margarita Levieva. He plays a young Hollywood wannabe, Nikki. He appears put together, handsome, rich and successful due to his wardrobe, the women he sees, and the houses he occupies; unbeknownst to everyone he encounters Nikki is poor and homeless. Nikki makes his living by sleeping with rich women; he then becomes their lovely charity case. The women find themselves attached to him and want him as their own. Nikki is perfectly fine with the situation until he meets Heather (Levieva). She, like him, makes her living by targeting rich men. The two are attracted to each other and begin an unconventional relationship. Things are going well until Nikki wants Heather all to himself. Will the two gigolo types be able to have a real functional relationship?Spread was decent. It wasn't like anything else I have seen which made it fascinating. The plot was intriguing. While watching the film I became more and more disappointed as time went on. There wasn't much development or room for this movie to progress. I felt as though it were stuck in a bit of a rut.I was both surprised and pleased by the ending. Not every relationship ends with a happy ending. Sometimes love isn't enough. Spread proves that and shows that to us through common situations with a slight twist from reality.

Well, "Spread" is undoubtedly a very R rated movie, for obvious reasons-- strong sex scenes for Hollywood standards. Ashton Kutcher plays a womanizer who doesn't show any feelings for the girls he's been with, neither for his only friend. One thing that I enjoyed is how filmmakers bring the message that life gives back what you seed throughout it. If you never did respectful things to the people you've been involved, they won't bring anything good to your life in the future. Another thing that I liked was how it stayed away from the obvious Hollywood clichés we usually have in mainstream comedies; I mean, characters weren't any stereotyped-- with maybe the exception of Nikki--, turning the story much more believable. It only fails sometimes because it lacks a highlight moment, making it feel like a light version of the good franchise that "Cruel Intentions" was. "Spread" has a more adult perspective of the whole thing, taking it seriously for some moments, something that "Cruel Intentions" probably never did. Good picture anyways, even it not flawless.

After reading a few reviews, I expected this movie to be a mildly pornographic rom-com. As the credits scrolled, however, I was surprised to find that this movie was not only well made and well casted, but the story behind well thought out too. Although some aspects of the story were clearly unreal (like the glamour and ease with which Ashton Kutcher picked up women), I thought that some things portrayed in Spread were rather accurate. One idea, which Nicky (Kutcher) mentions several times, is how people run to LA to pursue their dreams- but how the reality is that nothing is quite as magic as it seems. Most movies, having been made in Hollywood, would not necessarily incorporate this into the story. But this movie daringly features not only this but other controversial issues, and is therefore quite thought provoking. On the surface I can see why people thought the scenes of sexual nature were unnecessary, but really, the sex was part of the story. It was showing what Ashton Kutcher, who plays a gigolo, did to survive. And it showed how meaningless it all way for him. Overall I really enjoyed this film, and think that it carries a much deeper meaning than one would presume.
