The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

Some of the animation is good, but when the character animation where the movie suffers. Some of them look like newly plastic dolls that hasn't been painted yet.The biggest problem is the writing. This takes in modern time, I would have no problem with this if it didn't create too many plot holes like why they couldn't use satellites to find the meteor instead of finding it by man. Another change that creates more plot holes is that Tarzan lost his parents when he was a kid, not a infant and somehow he forget what humans look like or how to speak English. Tarzan being a infant is understandable, but Tarzan being an old enough kid creates more problems. I could go on the questionable writing, but it will take too long. For the rest of the writing, there is no originality. Some of the and writings are too similar to the Disney's version... including the Lion King. Also the characters are terrible. Jane is a typical damsel in distress, Jane's father is pretty dumb like he doesn't take action when the villain, Clayton shooting at Jane's direction. The last bad element of the movie is the acting. Most of the acting is lifeless and emotionless. One annoying element is there is too much exposition with the narrator, especially when it is really unnecessary to the point it is insulting to the audience's intelligence.

This is terrible! The dialog is stiff and broken. The character's reactions are not synchronize with their face and situation at all. This has to be the worst movie about Tarzan ever. Jane does not have any major impact or impression to the viewer. She appear just to be saved and did not do anything noticeable. And at the end, her "Don't leave me" line is very fake. The final battle is childish and ridiculous. It is very short, and utterly stupid. Note that the earlier plant monster should have joined the final battle. The scary mercenary behaved just like idiots. Seriously? Some small snakes and all of them lost their mind? Honestly. Tarzan himself has a constantly stiff and unchanging expression. While it did change in some scenes, the changes are minimal and hard to see. This movie's a big disappointment that only managed to make me want to re-watch the other, better Tarzan movie.

On investigating an ancient meteor in the jungle a boy's parents are killed and he is raised by a gorilla. As a young man he encounters his humankind again which puts him and the jungles inhabitants in danger.Without being uppity, oddly people are incessant, comparing this 2013 version to Disney's Tarzan (1999) which is a redundant consideration of the similarities or dissimilarities between the two films. The Tarzan character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs is over 100 years old, there has been numerous incarnations across many mediums over the years. After the prehistoric opening and the destruction of the dinosaurs this attempt by director Reinhard Klooss hits all the familiar beats of Tarzan incarnations including Jane, there's also the greedy corporation angle that's been well trodden (instead of riches it's the greed for the meteor's unique energies). The CGI colourful animation is crisp, clear and wonderfully rendered. While no more wayward than some of the other Tarzan stories out there it is still not the most engrossing Tarzan tale. The pacing is a little slow and narration is a little sluggish, that said, it looks great and has an edginess about it.If your looking for a definitive version of Tarzan, or something better than some of the classic black and white films or the much loved Filmation Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle this isn't it but it's not that bad either.

I saw this with my kids (6 an d 9). They rather liked it and so did I. There are original twists to the plot that I did not know from earlier Tarzan movies. The animation is great. Very realistic movements, expressions and landscapes. I liked the action scenes. Adults know the story, but this is version is told in as gripping and entertaining a way as any other version of it. I actually also liked the pace - which is sometimes too high in moder animations (like Peabody and Sherman). I think it is suitable for 6 and up - there are some emotional and distressing scenes with guns, monsters, fights I really think do not fit younger aged children. This deserves a much higher ranking on IMDb.
