A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

I found this film to be really enjoyable. It's not fantastic but it is a really good film with a great plot, neat well written and engaging characters and a great plot which draws you and keeps you watching and there's never a dull moment in this film. It's very accurate in its portrayal of bullying and how much it can affect the victim and have bad consequences for the perpetrator. The film basically revolves around a bullied kid called Darren Mullet who having had enough of being bullied by a group of bullies led by Bradley White(Alex Pettyfer) he hangs himself. Though it doesn't bother most of the other kids because he was a loser and no one liked him. The bullies later then throw a party and hey start receiving threatening text messages from Darren Mullet which freaked them out since he's dead. Then over the course of the nest couple of days accidents begin to happen and the bullies keep on getting texts from the supposedly dead Mullet and one by one the bullies are getting killed but at the same time head girl Justine has joined the bullies group and it seems she might be connected with all this. All in all a really enjoyable fun slasher horror with brutal deaths a great plot, Marvellous acting from the cast and a more than decent script. A solid 6/10

A typical revenge flick - class outcast dies as a result of atrocious treatment from his classmates (suicide, true, but he wouldn't have if he'd had a moment's peace), comes back from the grave to exact bloody revenge. The acting was acceptable, even pretty good for some of the characters. But character development itself was rather weak. Especially the character of the main antagonist, Darren. Then again, I guess it's hard to portray a very animated personality when the character's primary action consists of being a teen-killing zombie. ;-)As for the action, I don't really need to give away any spoilers - nothing new at all, the movie is quite thoroughly predictable. The best parts were the two sex scenes. Other than that, it was okay for passing time or for a late night horror flick craving.

Written by Stephen Prentice and directed by Jon Wright, Tormented is the classic teen slash horror film about bullying, and the effects bullying can have on different types of people. The film was very predictable, and highly unbelievable, mainly due to the parents not showing an interest in the killings, and the school remaining open even though there are murders occurring. The film starts with a young girl, Justine, being led out of a school by police, and looks distraught. The opening left me intrigued as to why, so it immediately grabs the audience's attention at the beginning. The film then goes on to reveal why the girl was being ushered out of the school, which displays nonlinear narrative. We learn that a young boy, Darren Mullet, has recently committed suicide due to being bullied so badly, and we get an insight into the bullies lives, seeing what they do on a day to day basis and who else they bully. He comes back to life, and sets out on killing everyone who bullied him. He does this with success, but leaves Justine alive, resulting in her being blamed for the murders. The film held all the qualities a typical teen slash horror film includes, but is highly unbelievable. The main reason I thought it wasn't that believable was because no adults knew about the killings, no teachers, no parents, nobody. That's the main reason why I thought it wasn't a great film. Also, the school seemed to be empty whenever a killing was taking place, which also seems very unbelievable However, the overall message of the film was clear, that bullying can affect everyone, and it does. The plot was constant throughout, and the story was very clear.. That fact that it made an income of £284,500 approx. but cost £700,000 to make, shows the lack of success it had in the box offices. The actors were very good, however, and portrayed the characters they were playing very well. Not only was it a horror film, but it held comedy aspects as well, which could grip the audience even further. It's definitely not for the faint hearted, as the killings are very gruesome, but it's a funny film nonetheless.

Prior to watching this film I was looking forward to it, also I was curious because of the title. Tormented is your typical teen horror film, with a twist. It begins with the funeral of a bullied overweight school kid, Darren Mullet who committed suicide and soon turns into a situation that nobody would expect. He comes to life again to torment his tormentors. His only mission was revenge and payback. Interestingly everybody can relate with a person that they know who your typical overweight kid looks like Darren Mullet. He becomes a serial killer with the violent hunger for the taste of revenge. The victims are a bunch of your popular, athletic and preppy teens. They meet their fate in the ways only you imagine in your head. We have all thought of having been dropped from a distance onto metal fencing. The imaginative deaths give the film a comedy look as well as being horror. This is a big plus to the film as it makes your cringe and smile at the same time which is pretty rare. The acting I was impressed with, a quick fact I found was that the suffocation of Kalila was not CGI it was done in real and wasn't edited. This shows the commitment into the film. The negatives are the fact that the film is very stereotypical. Schools in Britain are not like the film. This is coming from a 16 year old who attends an academy school which ranges from the ages of 11-19. The stereotypes bring the film down. All together it is a decent film, but unfortunately not a "must watch".
