It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

Whilst this movie is in the genre I enjoy this movie was actually one that bored me, the plot was great well the idea of it was if had all the emotion your expecting and the scenery was great as well as the characters playing their parts relatively well although some emotions were slightly underwhelming and unbelievable. This fell flat for me really because of the amount of twists and turns there were within the story, I get they do it for drama and excitement but actually half of the twist and turns weren't even relevant but meh this film left me feeling underwhelmed I'm grateful I didn't set my hopes too high :) not a waste of time no but not a film I'd actively choose to watch again.

This movie would've liked to have been described as light, funny, touching, and romantic. Instead it's mostly just maudlin and when it's not that it's just forgettable. Jennifer Garner, as earnest and cloying as ever, plays a young woman whose fiancée has just died. Over the course of the film, she paints some walls, pouts, and, this being a romantic comedy, naturally falls in love with one of her dead fiancée's friends (Timothy Olyphant), who for some reason decided to move in with Garner and her friends even though he has a giant beach house in Malibu. She also has to contend with the disappointing revelation that her cherished fiancée may have fathered a child while they were together. As you might be able to discern from the above brief plot description, not much happens in this film. The crux of the film should have been the burgeoning romance between Garner and Olyphant but the two have little to no chemistry and neither has much in the way of screen presence. The film does have some nice visuals of Colorado (or is it Canadian?) scenery. The characters that populate this film being residents of some lush, mountainous utopic part of Colorado are outdoorsy types - they drive Subarus, build memorial peace gardens, fish, and are psychically fit (except Kevin Smith, whose obesity was probably intended to further his character's kookiness, a very important trait in friends of romantic comedy lead characters). But why care about them? The film doesn't give us any real reason to.

I've seen this a few times now and always really enjoy it. It's not anything special as far as romance movies go so I'm at a loss to explain why I like it so much but I would have to say its one of my favourites. It's one of those tragi-romances, along the lines of 'PS I Love You', surrounding the death of a partner, in this case Jennifer Garner's fiancé.The characters and all their sub stories is what really makes this movie. Amusing, entertaining and at times tragic while still making me smile. The supporting cast is excellent especially Kevin Smith and Juliette Lewis who steal many of the scenes.Jennifer Garner is charming and Timothy Olyphant is the sexy bad boy with a heart. Together the two of them have one of the hottest kissing scenes ever, one of those, starts out angry, no, yes, what are we doing, YES, pause, no, lingering look, I still hate you but now I also want you, kisses. Sexy. The story takes place in Boulder, Colorado -which I liked and follows a woman whose future husband is killed in an accident just days before the wedding. Garner as 'Grey' leans on their mutual friends during the grieving process and then struggles to sort though the surprising secrets she discovers about his past while also falling for his best friend. 5/3/15

Dear Kevin, May I suggest you stick to writing? Forget about all those highly paid actors and their wonderful lifestyles - it ain't for you.I could only watch 25 minutes of this film before I decided I had to warn people off it - and all because of the scenes where you appear. The "planer" scene - terrible. The fly-fishing scene - awful.I had to laugh when I read this review by "Mama-C from Bensalem, PA": "Kevin Smith was definitely the comic relief in this movie. According to Smith, he claims that he can't act and that's why he plays Silent Bob. I say -- NOT TRUE!!! Kevin Smith was perfect as "Sam" and his acting was very good." I can only assume this was your mother using the pseudonym "Mama-C" who wrote that. Please stick to writing Kev, there's a good boy.
