The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

I've always been a fan of pocahontas; she was my inspiration, my idol. I've always longed to become like her and always felt fustrated and sad at the end, that John and her weren't reunited. However, upon hearing that there was a continuation, you can imagine my joy! . . . But little did I know that it would lead me to completly change my point of view on "pocahontas" in general. Now I have a hard time watching the movie without feeling any sort of resentment towards Pocahontas and John; Poca for not choosing John, and John for becoming such an a-hole. I'm not quite sure what they wanted to accomplish by breaking one of the sweetest couples of Disney, but they somehow managed to break many of our hearts and completely distort the original movie. If you truly love Pocahontas 1, then please do not watch the 2. You might become like me : each time I listen to a song with John and Poca, I can't help but feel angry, sad and spiteful. Just move along and never set your eyes upon this movie. Kinda like Jumanji, DON'T WATCH IT.

Worst, sequel, ever. Sure sequels to most movies are bad, but this just HORRIBLE. I wish I never watch it in the first place, killed the original movie for me. What makes me furious is that Pocahontas went with the new guy! No cute moments, no chemistry between them, no nothing! What happened to the we'll be together forever promise with the original John? I hate my decision to watch this. Beware, this movie will kill your childhood.

It appears that a recurring theme in the Disney sequels is drastic changes to character traits established in the first movie so that the writers don't have to think too hard in putting together their half-baked little cash grab. In the first Pocahontas, John Smith wanted to do all he could to help bring peace between his and Pocahontas' people and was even willing to die to save his best friend's life. Here, he doesn't care about anyone except himself and tries to make Pocahontas' decisions for her. They do this so they can justify Pocahontas leaving him so she can end up with the newly-introduced John Rolfe who became her husband historically but guess what? I don't watch Disney Movies to get a history lesson; I watch them to see happy endings where couples are able to get together despite unfortunate circumstances at the end of the last movie. Also, if John Rolfe was introduced to bring historical accuracy into the mix, he did a very poor job because everything else about the movie is historically inaccurate from Pocahontas not being married to him before she left for London to the undergarments depicted herein being those of the 19th century, not the 17th where the movie is set. All John Rolfe's introduction manages to do is retcon the tragedy of Pocahontas and Smith not being together as like I said, the writers make it so that it ends up being a good thing.Do yourself a favour and stick with the original Pocahontas while making up an ending where Smith returns to Virginia to be with her.

I wish i could go back in time so i didn't have to watch it. I got so mad because she chose the other John over John Smith. John Smith took a bullet to save her fathers life and she totally forgets about him and moves onto another man! I also didn't like how they completely changed her. She used to be inspiring and a role model but in the 2nd movie, she was neither. They dressed her up, stripping away her origin. The movie was also really boring. So i don't recommend watching it. Cons: Boring. She changes and is no longer inspiring. She chooses the other dude over John Smith Pros: None.
