This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

My mom put this on our rental queue, and I did some research on it while it sat there while it snaked it's way to the top of the list. It was here at IMDb that I saw Red Flags, a shortened way of saying "things that indicate that the movie you are going to see is going to be a painful experience that you're probably going to turn off to stop the pain". First off, no Eddie Murphy. Let's think about this, people: a sequel to a film whose main character isn't even present for. If the MOVIE is called Dr. Dolittle 3, I think you'd expect Dr. Dolittle to be there in some physical way. In other words, if they really wanted to waste some cash on a movie that shouldn't have been green lit but was because of a studio believing in capitalizing on franchises instead of releasing quality films, they should have renamed it. Second Red Flag: hordes of reviewers calling it a "family movie". I'm sorry people, but if you're calling it a "family movie" it tends to be a euphemism for "hokey garbage that you hope will entertain your kids for 2 hours while you pray to God for it to end". Red Flag #3, the fact that this was a straight to film release, a MAJOR sign of mediocrity/ disappointment being eminent: frankly, I don't know why production companies even release projects that are straight to video, they may as well just pull the plug on the project and get a refund much like the disappointed viewers who feel like they've been conned by the film companies. The 4th Red Flag came when it arrived and we forced ourselves to watch it. 10 minutes later, the movie was turned off: none of us could sit through it because it was horrible and you could feel the financial failure pulsating through every frame. In other words, you're getting a jaded movie review here because I didn't even bother to watch the entire feature, and I'm pretty sure you understand why.

To be completely honest with you, This movie is not that bad. OF course it is no where near as good as 1 and 2 but you have to keep in mind that with out Eddie Murphy it was gonna be an uphill battle. At least we have Maya and Mrs. Doolittle, But you know who the focus should have been on, LUCKY. The only times I laughed during this movie were when Lucky was on screen.Norm MAc Donald is very funny. They should have focused their attention on Lucky and worked around him and not Maya. Come on who doesn't like talking dogs.I give it a 5 out of 10 and only because of Lucky. Remember in parts 1 and 2 Lucky (norm)was pretty much the second most important character second only to Dr. Doolittle (Eddie Murphy).

I definitely think this was a good, family movie. It was not as fall out of your seat funny without Eddie Murphy but I give Kyla Pratt a big round of applause for even attempting the lead role in a movie that starred Eddie Murphy. She did an excellent job and the movie was very predictable but fun to watch. My 2 year old even sat still to watch it because of all the different animals in the movie. Its definitely more of a kids/teenage movie unlike the first two where adults and children got a kick out of it. Kyla is truly growing as an actress she really showed her dynamics of serious and comedian. Its basically her facial expressions that get the job done. Awesome movie/Great Job Kyla.

Dr. Dolittle is back... well sort of. This time around the story focuses on the baby of the family Maya Dolittle who is coming into her own as a teen but with one problem, she has this annoying gift to be able to communicate with animals like her father and sister. Eager to help her find herself, her mom (Kirsten Wilson returns) insists that she goes to a Ranch to find herself and she learns that her annoying gift may be the miracle that is needed to help an old farmer save his ranch. Great story with great family fun with some old and lovable characters (Maya, Mrs. Dolittle, Lucky and the monkey) and some new ones. (her camp friends) If you liked the first 2, you'll definitely like this one!
