When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

After watching this third installment of the Austin Powers film series, one can't help but wonder how director Jay Roach can get by with using the same type of humor for three go-'rounds. Well, the answer is simple: The characters are just too darn funny to get old!For a basic plot summary, "Goldmember" sees Austin Powers (Mike Myers) once again battling Dr. Evil (Myers), this time with 1970s "supervillain" Goldmember (Myers), a spoof of the classic James Bond villain Goldfinger, thrown in for good measure.Once again, the same basic jokes and tone of humor is used in this effort, but it just never seems to get old in the least. Plus, more of an actual storyline (dealing with "daddy issues") is present in this one than in its two predecessors. New characters Nigel Powers (Michael Caine) & Foxy Cleopatra (Beyonce) also add a bit of spice to the cast.Overall, this film simply keeps the Austin Powers comedy ball rolling. It may have slipped a tiny bit from "The Spy Who Shagged Me", but nowhere near enough to drop it a star ranking.

Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002): Dir: Jay Roach / Cast: Mike Myers, Verne Troyer, Beyonce Knowles, Michael Caine, Seth Green: The series may be running out of mojo for Goldmember lacks the freshness of the first film and duplicates jokes that were already repeated in the second film. Goldmember is a slang term and the name of the villain who kidnaps Austin's father Nigel and brings him back to 1975. Standard fare but director Jay Roach reveals the origins of Powers and Evil. Mike Myers brings energy as the sex-craving secret agent and the absented-minded Dr. Evil. Austin feels disappointed at the absence of his father. Dr. Evil goes to prison, and we learn more family secrets. Myers also portrays the new villain Goldmember. Verne Troyer goes through growth as Mini-Mi who joins Evil in prison but will question his worth when Evil's son Scott takes a step up. Beyonce Knowles is underwritten as Foxy Cleopatra who appears as an agent in 1975. She serves little purpose other than to parody classic Pam Grier roles. Michael Caine as Nigel is a pleasure and inspired casting despite the predicted resolution. He is kidnapped by Goldmember but feels hardly fazed. Seth Green also returns as Scott Evil with an interesting transformation of his own. Despite its recycled vulgarity the production is colourful and pointlessly amusing. In its 70's galore. Score: 5 ½ / 10

Austin Powers in Goldmember is a great movie with a with a well developed plot line, a top notch cast and, of course, fantastic characters. There is absolutely no denying that it is ridiculous fun from start to finish, jam packed with hilarious sequences, terrific cameos and stellar one liners throughout. This is a franchise that I think is difficult to get wrong as long as the cast are having fun with it. I will admit, however, that it is weaker than the previous two as a result of a little too much repetition. It plays up a lot of what worked in the other movies, to the degree of repeating entire jokes that we have already seen before. I just felt that it should have let itself be its own movie a little bit more. The cast is as good as ever, Mike Myers shines in the four roles he now plays in this movie, and his versatility as a comedic actor is no question. As well as several returning members, we have delightful new additions, such as Beyoncé Knowles as Austin's love interest Foxxy Cleopatra, and the great Michael Caine as his father Nigel Powers. They both manage to fit themselves in to this bizarre universe effortlessly. It is side splitting hilarity from start to finish. Great fun with a top notch comedic cast, I would recommend Austin Powers in Goldmember to anyone looking for a good comedy. In order to save his father, Austin must travel back to the 70's and defeat the evil Goldmember, who has teamed up with his arch nemesis Dr Evil. Best Performance: Mike Myers

Dr. Evil and MiniMe escape from prison and team up with Goldmember to flood the world by using a tractor beam to pull a meteor down to melt the polar ice cap. Goldmember has kidnapped Austin's father Nigel Powers (Michael Caine). Meanwhile Austin also travels back in time to 1975 to stop Dr. Evil and Goldmember.Michael Caine is a great addition. Beyoncé Knowles is not as good. The problem I have is Goldmember. He's very creepy, very weird, and not very funny. Fat Bastard does return and he's the good kind of weirdly funny as oppose to Goldmember. Mike Myers continues to add new interesting originality to this franchise. I just wish he could rewrite Goldmember or maybe just skip him altogether. And it's great to see MiniMe get a good important side story.
