Blood Diamond (2006)
An ex-mercenary turned smuggler. A Mende fisherman. Amid the explosive civil war overtaking 1999 Sierra Leone, these men join for two desperate missions: recovering a rare pink diamond of immense value and rescuing the fisherman's son, conscripted as a child soldier into the brutal rebel forces ripping a swath of torture and bloodshed countrywide.

For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!
It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
This is a decent drama, worth watching, not recommended for kids. DiCaprio is fine and the supporting cast is very good as well.
A fisherman, a smuggler, and a syndicate of businessmen match wits over the possession of a priceless diamond. Blood Diamond boasts another amazing perfomance from Leonardo DiCaprio but also showcases that Djimon Hounsou is a very underrated actor and i think this film perfectly showcased his talent and Jennifer Connelly was also very good. The movie also has a nice mix of drama and action and i think it looked brilliant and sounded brilliant also the ending was really sudden and very emotional. Blood Diamond is definitely a masterpiece!!!
It is natural and maybe necessary that groom gives a bride a beautiful stone, namely diamond as a token of his love. But he never know it exists under millions death in Africa. Even child kill African to take this tiny stone. It is ridiculous.However, no one find a way to stop this disaster.Because he also exists under this disaster.
This is a powerful movie that will make you think deeply. Leonardo diCaprio gives a brilliant performance, don't be surprised if you find yourself in tears watching this film! It's a film that I think everyone should watch at some point, especially people who haven't had the opportunity to travel outside of the US.
