A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

I CANNOT be anymore clear about that. None of the evidence that she was convicted on makes any sense whatsoever. The prosecutor who put her behind bars and used to refer to her as "a female Charles Manson" even now admits he made a mistake. He is now helping to get her out. Besides the great acting, this movie is so cheesy it stinks to the bowels of bloody hell. It is also has a complete choppy sense of direction, is inaccurate, cheap production, bad script. Also, the arrest takes place within just ten minutes from the beginning of the movie. They could have waited a little longer. I only give this movie three out of yen stars because the only thing good about it is the acting.

@wes-connors: Charles Manson didn't directly kill his victims, either (if it is how it is described and Sarah manipulated her boyfriend into killing their friends). Manson manipulated his 'family' members with drugs and sex to do his dirty work.@edshullivan: Jenna-Dewan-Tatum's last name is her married name. When she married Channing Tatum, she added his last name to hers. Dewan-Tatum is not a mix of her parents' last names. A lot of women do add their husband's last names to theirs when they marry.**** She Made Them Do It (2/28/13) Grant Harvey ~ Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Steve Bacic, Andrew Airlie, Mackenzie Phillips

Beautiful Purdue University student Jenna Dewan-Tatum (as Sarah Jo Pender) is outraged when boyfriend Greyston Holt (as Rick) invests her tuition money in a drug deal. The most sober member of a frothy foursome, Ms. Dewan-Tatum orders Mr. Holt to get rid of their roommates – then, she goes for a walk. When Dewan-Tatum returns, the other couple has been shot. Dewan-Tatum is found guilty of double murder and sentenced to 110 years in prison. This is how "She Made Them Do It" begins, but how it ends is unclear. During the running time, we are made to think the opening events did not happen as screened. Although we are informed this is "based on a true story," the truth appears to have escaped...Dewan-Tatum's character is described as a "female Charles Manson." Yet, she either does or doesn't commit the crime according to the moment you happen to be watching. Sexy and attractive for writer Gary Tieche and director Grant Harvey, Dewan-Tatum wastes no time in dropping her panties for the camera. She also hints at including both genders in bed, engaging the viewer. It's nice to see clean and sober Mackenzie Phillips (as Jamie Long) among her prison girlfriends. Given the use of "America's Most Wanted" and the fact that she was convicted, the way filmmakers seem to glamorize the character may be considered unfortunate – but that TV program and this film are selling crime as entertainment, after all.**** She Made Them Do It (2/28/13) Grant Harvey ~ Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Steve Bacic, Andrew Airlie, Mackenzie Phillips

She came across as a nice young woman victimized by a boyfriend and blamed for the killing of 2 people. Off to jail she went where she went out of her way to help people. Yet, she is called manipulative, cunning and quite dangerous. You just don't know what to believe regarding this true story. When she feels that the criminal justice system has failed her in refusing to grant a new trial, she takes off with the help of others in prison. She is pursued by a law officer who becomes obsessed with her capture.Everyone who she helped while in prison with them turns around and repays her.The fact remains whether or not she committed the murder. This question is never answered and it isn't explained what's going on in the jail with those pills and chemicals.I thought the warden would come off as some tough lady, but her part was never built up. Ditto for the black inmate who just never gets going.
