The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

You can skip this movie. 2:22 started strong, but failed to remain interesting thoughout. I thought the acting was meh, and the storyline downright boring. There was supposed to be this big reveal at the end of the film, but it was predictable. The pace of the story was off - like everything was happening too slowly with too many dramatic pauses. The sound in this movie was just horrible - bad mixing of music and background sound. The actual love story was cliched and dull. If it wasn't for the generically aesthetically perfect actors I doubt I would have watched it. Seriously, there are so many better movies out there. Do not watch this one.

As one who has studied ATC and who has family who are real-world ATC, let me point out to all viewers of the movie that the ATC sequences are completely ridiculous. If real-world controllers acted as depicted in this movie, they would be out of a job immediately.

Let's go for technical holes in this movie which even a layman can see miles away. The film's glorification of the landing/takeoff procedures was egregiously insulting to people working in the profession. There were so many violations of ICAO and FAA regulations not to mention impossible physical scenarios. Aircraft can't land and take off anywhere close to each other like that due to trailing wake vortices. Even before the initial 2:22 incident, that ATC ops group were blatantly disregarding very very strict landing procedures.

I have to agree with most of the reviewers here.2:22 had the cast, the financial resources, an "adequate" story and everyone did their job well. So what went wrong? Direction: all done by the book (speaking in 2017 standards). OK, if you have the money, you can do this, but it actually lacks soul and depth.Script: again, all done by the book. Romance, mystery, some science, cool ideas to engage both male & female audience and forget the gigantic plot holes.Characters/casting: No real people anywhere. Just pause on any scene that wasn't shot on the road and check: No ugly people, nobody gets dirty, nobody not properly dressed. What is this? Some balance would be nice.Getting all the right ingredients doesn't ensure the outcome.
