The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

You'd think if a ship went missing in the Bermuda Triangle for 25 years, and mysteriously reappeared with near everything intact minus the people they'd be more global interest than from a crappy, cheap cable show, but never mind. Our intrepid explorers, complete with the son of two of the original passengers and a salvage crew board the long-lost frigate... and promptly start dying one after the other in 'strange' circumstances. Could the cause be something to do with the supernatural? My guess is: YES.Watching this is akin to drinking Diet Coke: It quenches your thirst, but has absolutely no distinction and doesn't leave any impression whatsoever. There are some reasonable special effects, no-one is so irritating you want them to perish immediately and I couldn't detect any daft decisions made... which is unusual in this genre. It's just you want MORE than mere competency, a fact hammered home by the lack of anything resembling a climax. The film is content to sit there... wallowing in it's own mediocrity... with the predictable couple surviving and barely any fireworks throughout. Not even a damp sparkler. Some may be content with this. I wasn't. 4/10

First off, I know the film was made over 10 years ago, but it was really nice FINALLY seeing Judd Nelson actually IN the whole film! For the last several years pretty much all he's been doing are these drive-by scenes (quite literally in 'THE CARETAKER' - He never even gets out of the car...) And since I really DO like him and desperately wish with all my heart that he were in more and better films, it was kinda nice to see him as a central part of this movie (Oh, how I long for the days of 'FROM THE HIP', 'RELENTLESS', & 'CABIN BY THE LAKE')Also, it was great to see good ol' Lance Henriksen (kind of the same thing as Judd Nelson) It was nice too seeing him throughout the movie as a main guy. I also really liked the supporting roles of the guys employed by the Captain; they both have played similar roles in television and other films that fit those kind of characters very well and are a lot of fun. Now, to the film itself... Okay, this DEFINITELY is not rocket science by any stretch of the imagination. BUT... And it is a very BIG BUT like Mariah Carey's... I was quite impressed with the overall atmosphere, pacing, and look of the film. The exterior shots of the helicopter and the ship are quite nice; which then is unfortunately balanced out by the extremely silly CG toward the end (not giving anything away, but you WILL have to take the ending visuals with about a pound of salt...) And, to be honest, not a whole hell of a lot really happens or is explained (Uh, kinda like the CG I was talking about at the end; it's like, 'HUH...???!') But again, for just a fun and somewhat scary ride, it's an enjoyable film, definitely worth more than the 4.x it has now. This is NOT a work of art here. But, if you are not terribly demanding and you kinda like the haunted ship / Bermuda Triangle kind of thing, then you should have some fun with it. (Now, just a strong plug here for those of you who particularly DO like those kind of stories. You absolutely HAVE to see the movie 'TRIANGLE'!!! FAR more weighty and clever than this film, it is probably one of the very best of it's kind, especially if you also like your mind heavily and mercilessly screwed with : )

UFO Pictures movies are usually not much to write home about, and that's an understatement. Lost Voyage is not a bad movie at all. Of course, it does have its flaws, the biggest debit being the ending, which underwhelmed me in the sense that it does little to provide explanation to what was happening and why. But there is also some dialogue that felt a little rushed and contrived, uneven pacing and characters that are blandly developed. On the other hand, technically Lost Voyage is not bad at all, the settings are grim but fitting with the film's theme while the effects especially for UFO Pictures are decent. The music is haunting, and the story while predictable in set up is actually suspenseful and quite spooky. The acting is better than average, both Judd Nelson and Lance Henrikssen granted has done better but both are solid in Lost Voyage and the female roles are more than just beautiful people just there to be only that. All in all, not bad. 6/10 Bethany Cox

I wish someone would make a Bermuda triangle movie that gave an explanation of the phenomenon. It doesn't have to be true - just make sense. This silly show doesn't even try. A ship lost 25 years ago in the BT comes back and a group of people take a chopper out to the ship to investigate. Then all sorts of strange things happen but none of it makes any sense. I busted out laughing when one of the women is standing on the deck when, for no reason whatsoever, the floor gives way and she falls thru to the next level and meets her long dead mother!!! Janet Gunn and Scarlett Chorvat are the best part of this flik. Two really cute babes. Judd Nelson has a big part and wins the young Rob Reiner look-alike award.
