This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY is a South African movie, filmed in Botswana, charting the misadventures of a scientist and a bushman as they are forced to team up to fight the fight against some evil revolutionary types. The film is notable for featuring a naturalistic performance from N!xau, who is the real deal and who appeared in a further four movies after his new-found fame here. This is a slapstick comedy for the most part and for the most part it works very well. It is slapdash and unfocused in places, but in terms of location authenticity you can't get much better than this. N!xau only has a supporting role but he possesses a kind of natural charisma so you can see why he won the acclaim, even though he speaks in his unsubtitled language throughout. Most of the comedy comes from the shenanigans of Marius Weyers, playing the scientist type. A lot of the humour is dumb and lowbrow, but it's also very funny, like the bit in the schoolroom or all the scenes involving the long-suffering jeep. The action set-piece climax is very well achieved and rounds off what is a completely unique and inventive production. I look forward to seeing the sequel.

There are bushmen, who live in the Kalahari Desert. At first they tell us about their way of life. Later there is footage of life in the big city. The narrator keeps talking about modern life. We move back to the bushmen. A man in a passing airplane tosses a Coke bottle out the window. It lands close to the bushman, who has never seen anything like it before. Later it causes all kinds of problems and the bushman tries hide it. Later the leader of the rebels in Burundi trys to assassinate the President. Later they're chased by the military. I think this is a good movie. This is a good movie to watch, i have seen it two times in the last year.

The Gods Must Be Crazy. Very apt title for a movie which is a crazy mix of slapstick and subtle humor. There is whole array of sweet crazy characters put under crazy situations. Movie's first few minutes are classic, giving you a commentary on civilizations behavior. In fact, this running commentary is the most lovely part of the movie. Movie hops from satire to slapstick to subtle to cute and never misses to impress you. Shot into the heart of African wildlife, there are some exquisite shots of wild life creatures and their strange habits. This movie deserves to be watched because it is so unique, imaginative and full of purpose. All conversations are so delightful and delicious. Don't miss it if you like your movies to surprise you again and again.

This is one hell of a movie!!It's a place where humor meets innocence. I remember watching this move 10 years back and it left a mark in me.The movie has two sequels to it, but the one that has done it all is this part! It captures the journey of Xi(N!xau), to dispose the 'evil thing' (a coke bottle) that accidentally falls 'from the sky', in a remote village in Africa. What one expects with this kind of a plot is how Xi tackles the real world outside him.For this movie , the amusing element is how well he adapts to it.Xi's journey intertwines with the journey of many other interesting characters and creates a laughter roll. Do not dismiss the movie as soulless, because it is full of it. And N!xau is a star!
