So much average
Redundant and unnecessary.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
I watched this movie and i have no better idea of what it's about than i did before I watched it. this isn't horror, this is barely even a movie. nothing is explained, nothing comes together, the acting is horrible.... every single theory was left unsolved. No character development... I have never seen a worse movie in my life. Truly. Rewrite the story and try again.
I enjoy scary movies. One of my favorite styles no matter what time of year. So why would I not watch this one! Name brand actors and all. The movie just didn't add up. It felt like it was getting somewhere and left SO much clearly out. Here are some examples. The son saw the little girl..... or at least that is what they led us to believe and its never mentioned again. The pool boy was killed.... or was he? We will NEVER know. The grave was dug up..... maybe....The librarian tried to call.... once to warn them. Good for her..... oh... and what was she going to tell them exactly? How was that dinner with their friends? Seriously... WTF happened? This was a very choppy pieced together movie. Its like the pages of a book fell out all over the place, they were taped back in.... except of course 3 pages of each chapter, those were just left out due to space.
i enjoy any work done by W. Miller. i follow all his projects and i find them just amazing. everyone of us can understand diffrently the point of a movie or a story, but there is always a sparkle in everything good or bad. so, for those who think that this is a bad movie, i tell you guys to watch it again and see if, maybe, you missed the point. All the respect for the cast, producers and writers. a great job done one more time.
I had high hopes for the first half of this movie, but it just falls into a jumble in the last half. So many unanswered questions; a random kite, a random carpenter,etc.. If you want to see a classic with a similar story line, but done much, much better, check out The Changeling, bone chilling Canadian movie from 1980 with George C Scott. Don't be fooled by it's age, it's scary. You can even see it on youtube for free: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVttK509_JI .....it's basically everything this movie is trying to be except....you know, it makes sense.
