The last member of Farley Dean's gold-mining crew arrives on Bougainville Island, but Farley makes a reckless decision that divides the crew, puts his leadership in question and threatens to derail the mission.
Farley makes a rash decision, leading to tension among the crew. Later, the team worry about the fate of their mission after struggling with equipment failure, a beached boat and deadly crocodiles.
Farley must answer to the island leaders in response to his team's poor performance. Later, the boat crew discover a miscalculation may have damaged the dredge beyond repair; and the Americans chase their first encounter with Bougainville gold.
Farley insists the team attempt a dangerous trek to the upper reaches of the Queen's River, risking a mutiny in his search for gold. Later, Croc Jim teaches Ian how to catch crocodiles.
Farley leads the team to a major gold strike, but a freak accident cuts their celebration short and jeopardizes the mission.
The crew finally find gold, but a 1200-pound crocodile stands in their way.
The crew face off against a huge crocodile with only 72 hours remaining on the island. Later, angry islanders attempt to drive the team away from Bougainville.
