Five battle rap champions from Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Spain and Chile are tasked to recruit fresh talent from the freestyle scene and elevate the next generation in this docu-reality. On this journey, 20 aspiring MCs will test their abilities and determination in a series of freestyle battles, with only one walking away with the crown and a $50,000 prize.

Episode 1 - Baptism Ceremony — Part 1

Five legends of battle rap travel to the barrios of Mexico, Spain, Chile, Peru and Argentina with a single objective: find a freestyle rapper worthy of their reputation and transform them into “El Heredero.” As mentors, they must each recruit four MCs to their freestyle squads and guide them through the competition.

Episode 2 - Baptism Ceremony — Part 2

The victor and the defeated from the first round await their next challenger. In this episode, we learn about the backstory of Xplain, a freestyler rapper from Peru who created his persona in order to survive in the world of battle rap. Later, Aczine is confronted with the worst possible scenario: two members of his squad face off in a battle.

Episode 3 - Ceremony of Strategies — Part 1

Kaiser and Eskai open up about how freestyle saved them as the mentors kick back before the next ceremony. In a battle of squads, all of the female MCs are determined to show that they deserve as much respect as their male counterparts. We also learn about first round winner Eskai, a Chilean MC who raps without concern for the haters.

Episode 4 - Ceremony of Strategies — Part 2

Racso and J. Bickle take the beef between their mentors to a new level in a battle charged with fury, passion and disses. Gonzo wins the first round and moves to the battle of the victors. Later, we learn about Gonzo’s story, beginning with his home in Mexico where his grandparents instilled in him a passion for music.

Episode 5 - Ceremony of Duets — Part 1

The MCs are visited by Spanish freestyle legend Chuty, who arrives with some expert advice This ceremony sees the battles organized in duet format. Additionally, we dive into the backstory of J. Bickle, a Spanish MC who is ferociously loyal to his people. Meanwhile, “The Big Fish” squad has a difficult showing in the battle.

Episode 6 - Ceremony of Duets — Part 2

The five duets left standing must put on display what they learned from Chuty. Tension builds between mentors Kaiser and Dtoke. Skill shines in his battles, although his duet partner Nera Cheka has a rough go after being targeted by the rest of the MCs. After “El Potrero” emerges victorious, Skill faces a difficult decision that will end with one of his own leaving the competition.

Episode 7 - Ceremony of the 70s and 80s — Part 1

DJ Atenea and DJ Soniko challenge the contestants to show their range over beats inspired by music from the 70s and 80s. Also, we learn about Jesús LC’s backstory in Spain. Finally, in a battle for survival, the MCs must show their ingenuity as they are tasked with freestyling about a series of random objects.

Gonzo comes out on top of the battle of squads, which allows us to segue into the Mexican MC’s background, revealing his life as a student and how he holds down the house to support his working-class mother. Also, the emotional departure of Saturno after his loss to Venti in the battle of the death causes friction in the competition.

Episode 9 - Flamenco Ceremony — Part 1

The mentors try to squash their differences in a conversation about votes, with Aczino still heated about how Saturno was eliminated from the competition. Later, all of the MCs are caught off guard, with the exception of MC Men, by the incorporation of flamenco influences. The presence of flamenco leads MC Men to have an inspired freestyle performance.

Episode 10 - Flamenco Ceremony — Part 2

As the competition reaches its halfway point, the battle for survival is tweaked to increase difficulty. Some of the MCs are able to prosper under a new format, while others are unable to keep up with the new rules. In this episode, MP shares his backstory and reveals the details of his philosophical approach that he calls “3000.”

Episode 11 - Ceremony Without Censure — Part 1

The female MCs come together to air out their frustrations with the mentors, who only put them in battles with each other rather than mixing in battles with their male counterparts. A change in the format of the battle of squads leads to a revolt in which the MCs decide to turn the table on a new rule.

The female MCs finally have a chance to compete with their male counterparts as the battle of squads continues. Later, Skone confronts Kaiser after his vote once again shows a strategy that not all the mentors are cool with. After revealing where she comes from and what drew her into the world of freestyle, Litzy emerges triumphant in a battle with her friend Racso.

Episode 13 - Ceremony of Memories — Part 1

Still with all its MCs, Dtoke’s “El Potrero” fears that other mentors will vote against them in order to eliminate someone from their ranks, as they’ve been the strongest and most unified squad thus far. Another rule change is revealed — going forward each ceremony will see two MCs eliminated. Also, we get to know Argentine MC Barba Roja’s barrio.

Episode 14 - Ceremony of Memories — Part 2

The second phase of this ceremony tests the MCs’ skills by requiring them to freestyle about an unforgettable moment in their lives. Also, mentors are forced to recast their votes after a surprising tie. And we get to know Chilean MC Sedy, who uses his experience as a psychology student to analyze his opponents. Lastly, fellow squad members Barba Roja and Mp are forced to battle.

Episode 15 - Ceremony of Poets — Part 1

Cuban writer and repentino poet Alexis Díaz Pimienta stops by to share improvisation techniques, and also proposes a new challenge, “La Décima”, which tests the MCs like never before. Gaudy Mercy is pushed to the brink of elimination, while Vid takes us to her home in Mendoza, Argentina, where she opens up about her passion for poetry and how she seeks to fuse rap with improvisation.

Episode 16 - Ceremony of Poets — Part 2

Short on MCs, Aczine is unable to field a team for the battle of squads. Four MCs are left to prove that they can handle “La Décima” structure; three of the competitors will be relegated to compete in the battle for survival. Askel and Jesús LC are at the center of an unforgettable battle with beats fused with Cuban music. Also, Askel takes us to Chile to visit his barbershop.

Episode 17 - “Viva Mexico” Ceremony — Part 1

Mexican music is mixed with hip hop beats to bring rhythm to the penultimate ceremony. Venti tries to overcome the pressure of being the only remaining member of his squad. On a trip to his home, we learn about Venti’s family, his connection with Jaze, and how an inheritance from his grandfather introduced him to the world of music. Also, Skone and Dtoke clash over votes.

Episode 18 - “Viva Mexico” Ceremony — Part 2

Two MCs face the prospect of being sent to the battle to the death in the second battle of the squads. Gaudy Mercy and Sedy are pushed to the brink of elimination after Kusa emerges as the clear winner. And Kusa and Gonzo are caught off guard after finding out that they can’t diss one another in their battle, and actually have to rap positively about the other.

Episode 19 - Coronation Ceremony — Part 1

Spanish visual artist Okuda San Miguel arrives with a message of embracing one’s identity and how to find inspiration in art. After the finalists choose their opponents, the battle for survival is set: Askel versus Venti, MP versus Sedy, Gonzo versus Barba Roja, and Kusa versus Jesús LC. Dtoke is confident that “El Heredero” will emerge from the ranks of “El Potrero.”

Episode 20 - Coronation Ceremony — Part 2
February. 17,2023

Competing in the coronation ceremony’s two battles to the death are MP versus Askel and Barba Roja versus Kusa. After fierce battles, Kusa and MP are left standing, but the two friends must deliver their best rhymes yet as they go head to head for the “El Heredero” crown.
