Made in Scotland was a 3-part documentary series produced by STV Productions and broadcast on STV in Northern and Central Scotland in 2009, presented by Taggart actor John Michie. The show has since been broadcast across the UK on digital channel Blighty. Michie, as well as a number of well known faces from Scotland, focus on an iconic symbol that makes Scotland so unique and recognisable internationally. Exploring the country, its people and its culture, this series has seen celebrities examining Scottish icons that many Scots take for granted, while revealing little known history and also challenging popular assumptions. The programme was made by STV, in association with the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, to celebrate Homecoming Scotland 2009. 10-minute clips of the programme are used as fillers on STV.

Actor John Michie takes to the road to explore Scottish icons that are celebrated the world over. In this edition, John designs his own tartan - and discovers a skeleton in his family closet. David Hayman visits Islay to sample the creme de la creme of malt whiskies. Lorraine Kelly is in her adopted home town of Dundee to find out just how inventive the City of Discovery is, and Sanjeev Kohli aims to uncover the secret of Scotland's other national drink at the Barr's factory in Cumbernauld.

Actor John Michie heads to the Isle of Skye as he continues his quest into the origins of tartan. Former spin doctor Alastair Campbell plays with a pipe band - for the first time in 35 years. Comedian Ronnie Corbett plays a few holes at Gleneagles with the world's greatest, Colin Montgomerie. And Alex Norton delves into the songbook of Robert Burns.

Episode 3 - Made in Scotland Part 3

John Michie finally gets to see his very own tartan on the loom and joins the Clan Gathering in his brand new kilt. David Hayman finds out just how old the Scottish hills really are, and Kirsty Wark gets under the skin of our national dish when she learns how to make a haggis.
