Following Following the success of A Great Welsh Adventure, Griff Rhys Jones sets out on a typically intrepid series of explorations and challenges in a brand-new ITV series for early 2016. With his trademark inquisitiveness and thirst for the eclectic and little-known, Griff sets out to explore eight very disparate kinds of quintessentially British terrain, from downs to highlands, coasts to wolds and everything in between – unearthing some quirky and funny facts en route. Britain is home to a huge variety of landscapes, and their sheer natural abundance takes centre stage as Griff investigates how they have each dictated different ways of living, working and playing – both in the past and as they are now - across the entire country. Episode 1 - South Downs

In tonight’s opening episode, Griff explores the stunningly beautiful South Downs in Sussex. In search of what makes this landscape so special, Griff takes in a bird’s eye view from the air and a biker’s view from the ground – and along the way attempts to get to know one of the region’s woolliest inhabitants.

Episode 2 - Suffolk/Essex Estuaries

Episode 6 - Lake District

This week finds Griff exploring the dramatic and beautiful landscape of the Lake District. Along the way he meets the man who made the longest Cumberland Sausage in the world, attempts to speed along the steepest road in Britain and crosses the terrifying Infinity Bridge - but can he break the record for the slowest water ski in history?

Episode 7 - Cotswolds

Stunning landscapes and butterscotch-coloured villages – this week Griff explores the Cotswolds – a mecca of fetes, fairs and country shows. With gardens galore, Griff is spoilt for choice as he attempts his latest challenge.

Episode 8 - Welsh/Shropshire Borders

In this episode Griff travels to the beautiful borderlands of the Shropshire countryside. He takes to the air to survey the landscape in all its glory before descending to fulfil his final challenge. From medieval Ludlow to the engineering marvel that is Chirk Aqueduct; Little Switzerland to Llangollen Canal – Griff explores them all in his attempt to ‘catch a dragon’.
