Mahoney’s Last Stand has only appeared on Canadian TV and in particular remains neglected, forgotten even, with no release even on VHS.

If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
