I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

Was Shikkar directed by Joshi worth the housefull signs across all theatres in Kerala for weeks & weeks together after release day? Yeah….sort of.Seriously - I loved the story, very good acting, good direction, aesthetic costumes, attractive cinematography, hilarious comedy and nice songs. The comedy was also cool, especially in the first half when the audience kept rolling into peels of laughter whenever Jagathy Sreekumar or Suraj Venjarammoodu acted idiotic.Mohanlal, once again, was the leader of the pack with his excellent acting. Samudira Kani(who's a rebel leader and wonderful performance too), Sneha (Mohanlal's wife), Lakshmi Gopalaswamy (Abdullah's wife), pretty Ananya (Mohanlal's daughter) and Lalu Alex are also commendable. But, again, as happens in movies often, climax slips below expectation. The fight sequences could have been more exciting as there is lot of anticipation built in the story towards this moment. This seems to be a bane usually in Malayalam cinema where action scenes are mostly average.Nevertheless, a very interesting, hit Mohanlal movie. Go ahead with your family, no worries :)
