Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

Yes, to some the summary/title of this review might seem to contradict the vote of 3 I have given this movie, but before I pushed play I was honestly expecting something much worse.Of course this is schlock. Of course the acting is not good, to say the least. Of course you know the contents of this movie just by reading the title. But I have seen Leeches, and Megalodon, and Spice World, and The Room. I have scraped the bottom of the barrel. I have looked into the abyss of movie-making and seen it blink. And when Spring Break Shark Attack panned out to be a movie that is NOT cynical and more aware of it's budget restraints than the viewer, it received to instant plus- marks in my book. Bikinis are thankfully not the main attraction here, the script has been given a bit more than a passing thought, and the amount of attempt witnessed here is to be appreciated. This movie is what you can expect with such a title, yet all the obvious roadside annoyances of such low-quality movies have been successfully erased. An educating view for fans of B-or-worse-movies or those who like animals eating jerks.

i think that it was one of the bette TV movies that i've seen,, not as good as Jaws, but definitely better than Dinoshark.. lol..so we have a man down the beach a ways whose little island is failing financially so he comes up with a plan to make life miserable for the next beach up the coast,, he rents out a fishing boat,, and starts chumming up and down the beach till there is massive amounts of blood everywhere in the water. now you got a lot of sharks in the water after the local population,, the only point i didn't like about this movie, was the whole roofie, date rape drug plot,, with danielle and j.t. it seems they didn't concentrate on the sharks enough. overall though it's a pretty good t.v. movie.

Spring Break Shark Attack starts as cute teenager Danielle Harrison (Shannon Lucio) decides to disobey her father & head down to Florida for the spring break to be with her friends, while there Danielle hooks up with her Shark expert brother & meets the likable & handsome Shane (Riley Smith) who works for his mum renting out fishing boats. Seagull Beach is a popular hangout with the locals looking to party although an artificial man made reef has attracted lots of wildlife to the area including lots of man eating Tiger Shark's who start feasting on anyone they come across in the water. Danielle, Shane & her brother discover the truth but the authorities won't listen & a full blown Shark attack on Seagull Beach & everyone there seems only a matter of time...Also known under th title Dangerous Waters: Shark Attack outside the US this Soth African & American co-production was directed by Paul Shapiro & is yet another really awful 'Creature Feature' from the Sci-Fi Channel that manages to be just that little bit worse than usual, imagine a mind numbingly bad cross between Dawson's Creek (1998-2003) & Jaws (1975) & you still wouldn't be close. The majority of Spring Break Shark Attack concentrates on teen angst & their problems like fights with over protective parents, dating, peer pressure, making the right decision & even date rape with the Shark attack angle coming in a very distant & lonely second, the Shark attack angle actually feels more like an afterthought & the sub soap opera dramatics feel like they were given priority. The Shark attack scenes are awful, there's no build-up or tension & no pay-off whatsoever as they are as tame as they come. The whole thing is very predictable (gee, I wonder if that Shark repellent device Danielle's brother is working on will be used later on?), the character's are awful, the dialogue is poor & it's just terrible with a really slow pace that makes you just want to press the fast-forward button. Spring Break Shark Attack isn't even any fun in a it's so bad it's good, it's just insultingly bad in all aspects. As already mentioned the Shark attack scenes are amongst the worst I've seen, there obviously wasn't a special effects budget & as such most of the Shark footage seems lifted from a wildlife documentary & the actor's are never seen with them, only the typical fin above water is shown at the same time & there are maybe two shots of a fake Shark as well otherwise it's people splashing around a lot & not much else. There's no real gore here, a bit of blood in the water & a couple of bite marks but nothing else, the original Jaws is gorier than this.Although set in California this was apparently shot in Cape Town in South Africa, the scenery is nice enough but a beach is a beach no matter where it is, right? The acting is bad, really bad although a few of the girls are quite cute I suppose. Respected Australian actor Bryan Brown probably needed the money & fancied a free holiday in South Africa.Spring Break Shark Attack is a mind numbingly bad 'Creature Feature' of the worst kind, far too much tedious drama & too little Shark attack. This isn't even any fun, it's just a boring chore to sit through of the highest sloppiest & most predictable kind. Even die hard 'Creature Feature' fans will have a hard time liking this.

Spring Break Shark Attack (2005) ** (out of 4) Silly made for TV flick about teens going to Florida for spring break only to have sharks infest the water. The performances are all annoying and the director grew up watching way too much MTV but it's bad enough to be mildly entertaining. Some footage of real sharks are used, which was a nice touch but the rubber sharks look like something you'd see on the Muppet Show. The side plot about date rape is a tad too much. Unlike Jaws this was a film where I was actually cheering for the sharks.
