It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania- 2014 Director: Shashank KhaitanA light heart romance. Though it looked like a copy of DDLJ.Cast is just superb. Ashutosh Rana as Kavya's father is very good. What a wonderful actor he is. He pours his intensity as well as sense of humour into the character. Varun Dhawan has done complete justice to his character. Alia is also wonderful. Her face has the right combination of innocence, chirpiness, traditional, bindass attitude. She makes Kavya so much lovable. Sidharth as Angad Bedi has great screen presence.Music could have been better. The song 'Samjhawan' composed by Toshi- Sharib and sung by Shreya-Arijit is very good.

I just created an account now in IMDb just to write a review about this crap that I watched few hours ago. I cannot believe people are rating up to 3 stars out of 5 and 6.1 rating!!! I just wish there was zero or negative in the vote!If you are a big DDLJ-SRK fan please stay away! I think these people have lost their mind and they think people who watch movies are stupid and mean enough to like an awful story like this. Have this director ever watched DDLJ??? I personally feel that this is perfectly crafted to mock and insult the lovely performance of SRK and Kajol in DDLJ!!! Boy I wish they would never watch this pathetic movie. I have no idea why Karan Johar would agree upon something like this. The way modern Indian culture depicted in this movie is so condemnable. Please don't watch this movie guys or you will want to slap the director and the actors for choosing this script. 'Normal Human beings' will definitely hate this movie. May be they should try showing this movie to Zombies so that they could eat these peoples brains and just kill them right away!

Movie: HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIAReview: Lets start from DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE (one of my favorite movies ever), released in 1995, created a lot of records, continues to inspire a number of storytellers to this date. Now débutant director Shashank Khaitan borrows the essence from all-time classic film and make new mas-ala in the form of HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA.The main characters in the movie are Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. As we know in Bollywood, the more things change, the more they stay the same.Awesome acting performed by Varun Dhawan.Alia also played a good role as Ambala girl. There is action, entertainment, love and thrill in the movie. The songs of the movie are copied but you will still love them.In the end as always hero wins and makes happy ending. On the whole HUMPTY SHARMA KI DULHANIA is a beautifully textured love story that wins you over.

What is so new about this film? We have seen this same film a million times, done in different ways, but they are all basically the same! What I don't understand, is what do Indians love so much about this same old story being told over and over again? The screenplay was weak, many moments were unnecessary and forced. A lot of the plotting seemed very convenient and stupid. Secondly, this film gives rise to the "Indian Hypocrisy" that Indians are known for....For example their is a sex tape scene...On one hand Indians get so offended and talk about sanskaar when their are meaningful films that deal with serious subjects....But in this so called "FAMILY" entertainer, showcasing sex in a comical manner is absolutely FINE with everyone? This shows the childishness and double standards of Indians...Also, why is it that so many bollywood films end up taking a dig or make fun of subjects that are considered to be quite sensitive in other parts of the world? This shows that Indians are so out of touch with reality....For example, the "Gay" scenes were done in such a way that they were mocking homosexuals....In the rest of the world, people would be insulted by this cheap humor, but in India the FAMILY audience loved it!What does this say about indians? Are we so unwilling to grow beyond our mediocrity?
