Absolutely the worst movie.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks.The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

With the death of a notorious criminal, his minds transfers into a doll (Child's Play anyone ?). He can now speak and wants more blood and.. pussy. "Black Devil Doll" is a very low-budget production that fails in every way. It is not a horror. It is not a comedy. It is not a porn. The greatest flaw is the so-called cast. The girls can't act at all and their characters are nothing more than annoying and unattractive sluts, certainly not good looking. The kind you see in very bad and very cheap porn movies (I'm sure that's exactly where they come from in the first place..) Hard to watch them really, even when they are naked. Yes, there is nudity but it is rather boring. Yes, there is some blood but it is done in a very cheap and unconvincing way. The throat-cutting scene at the end of the movie is the only thing worth watching, but also not great either. Is it funny ? Hell, no. The doll is just like the ladies, very annoying and dull. The story is stupid and everything in it does not make any sense at all. I really have no idea why people love this movie, it was just all bad from start to finish (running time is just over 1 hour, fortunately).

Black Devil Doll is 100% exploitation. Pure Trash. Pure Fun. But it is extremely low-brow and certainly ain't for everyone as you can see by some of the reviews on here and other sites I have looked up.I think its a love it or hate it type of film.One thing I find annoying are the reviewers that complain about the acting. Hello!!! Did you really expect "good" acting from a film about a black puppet that rapes and kills white women? Seriously? Its just not the kind of film you watch for good acting. It is the kind of film you watch if you want to see a black puppet rape, kill, do copious amounts of drugs, cuss like a ghetto superstar, toss salad, smack around some hoes, and spray toxic diarrhea! But having said that, I think all the ladies did a great job in their rolls and god bless them for going all the way and letting a black puppet eat them out! Black Devil Doll is meant to be "bad" and it wallows in its badness like a pig in sh!t. Anyone expecting anything else from this little film is just stupid.The film is fast pasted, brilliantly edited, has great music, hilarious, and sick as hell with some of the most off the wall stuff every filmed.Exploitation fans, do yourself a favor, pick this one up, add it to your collection, its a modern exploitation masterpiece.

The hype surrounding this flick was enormous. I was at a horror convention a few weeks ago and it was all about this title. Even here in our local DVD shop they sold this movie for only 8 euro's and full uncut. Be clear, this isn't a remake of Black Devil Doll From Hell. That one was also about a black doll possessed by some spirit and starts doing weird things. And don't think that it is in the tradition of Chucky in Child's Play. No it isn't. This is pure exploitation. Everything is included, blood, chicks and gratuitous nudity. And the last part is available in such a way that it is more erotic than exploitation. The acting is way below zero but don't be bothered, the director never made this flick to became a hit, but it surely will become a cult hit. The black doll walks around only to doing his stuff with the girls, afterwards he kill them or is doing necrophilia. let's say that the first part is all about naked chicks. All shown full frontal but how, they shown their tits to each other for no reason, just like, hey, you have beautiful ones, yes I know do you want to see them, yes okay, would you like to see mine. Big fun. The last part the red stuff starts flowing and in cheap effects but slightly gory. And then 10 minutes before the end the credits starts rolling, I thought, o no, not ten minutes of that crap, but keep watching, there is fun included. Anyway, never take this film seriously. Just watch it as it is, pure exploitation entertainment.

This was another film I was on the fence about. It grabbed the midnight slot at the Fangoria Festival which was appropriate. There's nothing mainstream about this movie, even though the plot was stolen from the Chucky series.The "twist" is that it's a black radical, serial killer who gets reincarnated as a dummy. The puppet struts around talking ridiculous jive lingo. He assaults and tortures a lot of naked white actresses. There's even an Ouija board explanation thrown in for good measure.It's obviously intended to be outrageous and offensive. No one mistook this for a serious horror flick. BDD was even genuinely hilarious at times. I've got to admit that I was a little troubled by the fact that it seemed to reinforce so many negative stereotypes. As d-lewis points out in his review, there's a fine line between spoofing racial stereotypes and feeding into them, especially when you're as white as the filmmakers who manned BDD's Fangoria table.
