While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The film may be flawed, but its message is not.

I love horror movies, I have always loved them even as a tender little girl I fell in love with the monster of Frankenstein. Zombies are my deepest loves for they are the true mirror reflection of our selves as we bring on the apocalypse. So Zombex, with its noble cast of characters, could be so enriching and fun for the world to see. I watched with my husband for "date nite" and boy were we surprised! We sat eyes wide open and sometimes shut (with hand holding head as increduleousness swept through our minds, forcing us to shake our heads to deliver ourselves from the fumagting toxic fog of the osurdity emanating from the television). One scene is cropped so that you cannot see the main actors (of interest) speaking in the backgrownd. The scenes seem to be inspired from moment to moment and one wonders if there is an actual scipt somewhere in the woods. As reference for general understanding of perspectives, this is one to be watched.

I don't know the technical movie terms, but I had to comment that this director had a passion for what he was creating here... LOL... He just should have finished his 101 class first.Okay, the good parts... Sid Haig, Malcolm McDowell, and pretty boy David Christopher... AND the editing, in my opinion, was innovative... okay, maybe not innovative, but as I said in the title... it has feeling...The story, like any good B movie, is long, over-done, and drawn out... BUT... with a good buzz, you will have a good time! I appreciate the bold contempt against pharmaceutical companies and I think Sid playing a military leader was pure IRONY and deliberate. Thank you Mr. Dayton for having a great sense of humor.If you're anything like me, you don't really care about reviews in regard to likability; you like what you like. I liked the fact that I can appreciate an attempt at a 'tongue in cheek' message...

What a shame. To actually have the gall to present this 'film' to a viewing audience. The democratization of filmmaking is just presenting more and more people that have absolutely no idea to the proper structure of narrative storytelling. This film looks like the editor plopped all the footage into a blender and hit 'high'. Nothing makes sense and I didn't have a clue as to who anyone was or what was going on. I realize that filmmakers like to be innovative and that to me is very welcomed as a viewer, but the narrative structure has to be coherent. If you don't have decent structure and very well defined characters all you'll have is, well… this 'movie'. It's very clear from this presentation that the director, writer, cinematographer, and editor had no idea what they were doing. Projects like this are killing horror films.Total trashology. Don't waste any more of your time even reading this review.

When I saw that Sid Haig and Malcolm McDowell were in this zombie movie, I was thrilled to get to see this movie.And now having seen it, I must say that my excitement was shattered tenfolds. Wow, this movie was awful.Not only was the dialogue bad and forcefully scripted, but the storyline was just downright insulting to people who enjoy the zombie genre. Seriously, this was all that director Jesse Dayton could muster with an ensemble of actors that was on the billing list? The story is about a pharmaceutical company that gives away pills to the general public as a sign of good will and willingness to help. However, these pills turn people into ravenous zombies. It is up to a small time radio DJ and a former musician to find out a way to stop this infection.Well, the zombies were running about, as in "28 Days Later", which doesn't really go well with me. And also for people that were recently deceased from the pills, then they turned into rotting cadavers awfully quick. And that whole phosphorous florescent green contact lenses to indicate zombie infection, no, no, no! That wasn't working on any level, regardless of how you looked at it.The best parts of the movie were the name of Malcolm McDowell which was Dr. Soulis; it sounded like doctor soulless. And also it was quite surreal to see Sid Haig in a military uniform, which he didn't pull off one bit. Now, I am normally all for Sid Haig, but his role for this movie was so wrongly selected. And also, there is just about enough gore and blood to keep the gorehounds out there semi-interested in the movie.Not even seeing Tom Araya making a brief appearance in "Zombiex" was enough to raise up the movie in any way.This movie is definitely within the lower scale of all the zombie movies that I have had to sit through throughout my movie-watching history so far. And it is getting a mere 2 out of 10 stars from me.
