I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

The first Doc Martin prequel was pretty good, except for the repulsive sex scene, the squeamish bits, and the verbal litter. But the rest was great. We watched it just before we watched this one and this one was absolutely awful.Anna Chancellor's character made us want to turn the show off right from the beginning. The Doc showed no intelligence. It was a comedy of stupid errors rather than unfortunate ones. There was no one to root for in this show. Well, we take that back. Pam Ferris was her awesome self. It was fun to see her glammed up. We're also not a fans of the verbal litter. It usually just stinks things up.Loved the scenery though.

We got hooked on Doc Martin when the first two seasons were offered on Netflix -- love the Cornish landscape and love the slightly scruffy and very quirky denizens of this corner of England. Imagine my surprise when I found out that there were two films previous to the series, and finally sat down to watch them. The first was really cute -- it was nice to see the Doctor not so crusty and more human than he is in the series, but the second one absolutely cracked me up. Nicely plotted, so many subtle digs at stereotypical Londoners, but not so stereotypical that they were trite. Loved the magical moments, and the last scene just ties everything up in a big bow -- I fell off the couch laughing, happy to leave the Doc with things perfectly in order (for Cornwall). A very feel-good movie, and well worth watching twice.

This is the second film in the Doc Martin series, the first not, as yet getting a mention on IMDb. Hugely enjoyable film incorporating all aspects of life such as escapism, small town gossipping, pretty ladies to keep men glued to their seats (Neve McIntosh) and a little bit of intrigue in the smuggling plot too. I for one would love to see this made into a series and to run and run.

This film follows Saving Grace, and it does well as a prequel. It is the second prequel and it improves on its predecessor. It has the slightly bizarre Cornish lifestyle down to a tee. It flows perfectly, the comedy aspects of the film are thrown in at just the right times and the character responses are perfect. The acting is just brilliant, maybe not in terms of professional acting terms but their characters come off as completely believable. This is aided by great casting.I love the scenery in all three films and I'm in awe at the landscape. It is so beautiful, the only thing unbelievable about these films is the fact there is so little rain. What I love in a film is for the main character not to act like a main character and I believe that Martin Clunes fits in well with the less famous actors/actresses in this film. I can find little in this film to criticise and there is nothing wrong with the acting and casting.I love the fact that the smuggling storyline is slightly hidden from the audience. Balanced with the ridiculous acting from the customs agents it is perfectly portrayed. This also leads to one of the cheapest all-thrills chase ever in a movie. This film is without doubt one of the best films I have ever seen. 100%, 10/10, Smiley Face. A+
