The Age of Commercialism
Pretty Good
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
I saw it yesterday in Montreal. This movie really got into me, even though I consider myself an atheist. It's incredibly insightful and cleverly edited. Justin's camera never judges the two bands and the fans, but shows the true side of Hardcore Christian rock: people are happier than ever and have found a reason to live. The rhythm is good and we find some very intense human interactions. I realize now that the movie is not entirely about religion, but more about anyone finding their way to happiness, be it by mixing tattoos, hardcore rock and faith to some God. These guys have been through some tough times in their life but somehow managed to get themselves together, thanks to this surprisingly huge and structured community. Go watch ChristCore if you have the chance, it might not change your view on religion or Hardcore music, but it might change your view on people.
