It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

Street racer is told by his girlfriend to she is expecting and tells him to either hang it up or go with her to get an abortion before she walks out of his life. He decides to hang it up but the promise of one more big race is too strong. As he races in a race that is fixed so he won't win, his girl goes into labor. He wrecks his bike and is taken to the hospital as his girlfriend dies in child birth. Three years later he's retreated with his son to a sea side restaurant and people are coming back into his life in the hopes of getting to race again. Good little film has some racing but really is about the characters. Its the interplay between them that becomes interesting, more so when you realize that there are only a couple of races (the title is misleading). Is it the best thing to come down the pike? no but it is a solidly entertaining drama thats worth a look.
