| Drama Romance

Olle, an introverted, well-mannered boy with an air of innocence and sincerity about him has been camping with his father at the same camping ground with several other people for years now. A sort of tradition that ends in a karaoke party. Then one summer, a family friend brings her reticent 'city boy' nephew, Kevin, and his pet budgerigar. Olle accidentally releases the bird and what follows is a discovery of friendship and love between the guy who has grown up in a loving environment and simply accepts love for what it is and the guy who's apparently been burned too many times in his own circle to feel comfortable with it.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

sweet-bitter atmosphere. perfect cast. wise story. inspired atmosphere. a form of realism who gives seductive form of realism. because it is a film about past and memories and clash between different manners to understand the life. all presented in delicate manner. the contrast between Olle and Kevin is the most important virtue of this short film about holiday, self definition and new beginning. Britta Andersson does a great job , giving the key -character, who knows, who looking preserve the equilibrium, who preserves her fears and see the right solution of a possible crisis. and Tobias Bengtsson seems be the best choice, maybe only for be Olle. a beautiful film. that is all.

"Lucky Blue" is a 28-minute live action short film from almost 10 years ago and the first thing that needs to be said is that you may want to make sure you get subtitles for this one. The film's title is English, but it's actually the name of a bird in the film and all the talking is in Swedish. The director and writer is Håkon Liu and this was his second filmmaking effort. The two male lead actors, especially the one who is even more lead than the other, are not too experienced and it shows on some occasions. I have seen many gay-themed short films and this one here is neither among the worst, nor among the best. It is sadly not a particular good watch nonetheless. There are some cheesy and cringeworthy moments and the reference of the bird flying out of his cage compared to the boys breaking free and admitting their sexuality is really pretentious. A couple solid moments, a couple bad moments, overall not enough good to let me recommend it. Thumbs down.

I never was much of a fan of the short film genre. this movie proved me wrong and how. i was blown over by the sheer restraint that the director showed. not too long, not short - just perfect.added to this is the brilliant performances by the cast. The sets are nice and the score is great.but what makes it a gem is the feeling that if such and such were the circumstances, this is the way that it would happen. you just marvel at the realism. And wish the tale for yourself - in real.OK - words don't come easy to me- either:)Strongly recommended..

For me, this film is a masterpiece -- albeit its short length. It all began when Kevin happen to travel with his aunt and met with Olle in a holiday trailer park. Considering its short length of the film - I would feel remorse of disclosing any plot after this :).What being the most powerful way the director managed this film is that - instead of using complex plot, tragedies, and multiple characters that many full length movies use- the director has eliminated all these noises and focused into the 'passion' and 'affection' component of the film and let those carries the story until its very end which makes this movie very powerful.I had never been impressed with 'coming out' short story because most of them ends in either separation, deaths, tragedy or just filled with other ambiguities that leaves the audience lingering unsatisfied. But Lucky Blue proves me wrong. The simplicity and the short length of the film, for me, certainly has accomplished its true purpose that is not only to entertain but also to inspire and gives hope to people affected by such sensitive issue.
