Nice effects though.

a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

This film started out mildly entertaining, but rapidly degenerated into an infuriating display of casual sexism w/o relent. The female lead makes Fay Wray look like Sigourney Weaver, the only way she's allowed to move is if the male lead grabs her by the arm and drags her along, he never *talks* to her (which involves *listening*), only *tells* her things, and on and on and on. I finally gave up a little after half way through.

Once again, I'm amazed at the number of less than flattering reviews of these movies. Are audiences so spoiled by mega-buck blockbusters that they can't take a decent flick at face value and enjoy it? Fine, you don't care for the genre. Okay, then go watch a genre you enjoy and leave the petty nitpicking behind.$7,000,000 (estimated) is not "low budget," so that group of hyper-critics can't denounce that. The story is fairly original (given a much worked over genre.) The film flows smoothly. Director Tibor Takács has done an admirable job of keeping the story on track and presenting it well. Lorenzo Senatore's Cinematography is excellent. The acting is quite good, actually. Patrick Muldoon, Christa Campbell, and William Hope deliver solid performances as do others. Someone commented, "Terrible CGI." Maybe it's me, but I thought the CGI looked pretty damn good. That was one heck of a lot of spiders wreaking one heck of a lot of havoc on New York.I can't for the life of me understand why some reviewers find it necessary to absolutely trash films. Most are entertaining and each needs to be taken on it's own merits. If these people don't like these films so much, then why do they bother to watch them? Just to mindlessly trash them? If someone is going to write a review, write one with some substance and forethought.Spiders is a well made film. It gets intense and delivers plenty of exciting entertainment - if that is what someone is looking for. If you don't like the genre, then don't waste your time.I recommend Spiders without reservation - if you like this sort of thing. I sure do!

Bad acting in a story filled with plot problems, it moves slowly and didn't even scare my wife who is terrified of spiders (which was my main motivation for renting it). The only redeeming quality was that it was actually so bad that we laughed to the point of tears at a couple spots. My favorite moment in the movie is when the main character is surrounded by a s.w.a.t. team and slowly backs away and then successfully runs away without one soldier managing to fire a single shot. The other moment I enjoyed was when the main character fights the mother spider with his fists after tanks, machine guns, and missiles failed to do any damage...sure that makes sense. This movie really doesn't deserve ten lines or ten minutes of your time, but alas my displeasure desires to have a voice.

Problems With Spiders:-Not enough spiders. -The spiders don't kill enough stupid actors. -Christa Campbell's botoxed and sadly altered faced makes her look like Michael Jackson near the end. -Not enough spiders. -When every actor flubbed a line (and they all did at some point, some more than others) it seemed like the director just waved them on to continue. -Seeing the same forty or so extras in nearly every crowd scene (watch for the red hoodie). -Not enough goddammed spiders!I could go on, but it's hot in my apartment right now. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
