I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Chinese actress (Infernal Affairs, Infernal Affairs III) and pop star, Sammi Cheng leads a cast that has a decided family bent.Directors Ka-Fai Wai and Johnny To work together often, as do writers Ka-Fai Wai, Nai-Hoi Yau & Kin-Yee Au. Actor Ching Wan Lau and director Ka-Fai Wai have collaborated eight times, and he has directed Sammi Cheng five times. All the major players should be very comfortable with each other.I went in expecting a horror film, but there must be a problem with the translation, as it was a silly comedy.Sammi Cheng (Cheng) marries a rich man and he dies suddenly. She spends her time eating, drinking, and lounging around the house - when she isn't shoplifting or driving drunk.San-san Lee (Miss Hong Kong 1996) plays the spurned girlfriend perfectly. She was a riot! Sammi Cheng was outstanding, as was Ching Wan Lau.It was not horror, but a tender love story.

An interesting and hilarious Hong Kong comedy. I expected an extremely silly and quirky horror/comedy based on the apparently mis-translated synopsis. Instead, I got a fun comedy (no horror) with twists, a full robust plot, and some really touching scenes. Clearly built on a lot of Chinese mythology, this movie makes far more sense through-and-through than most "zany" Asian movies. It slightly falls apart at the end, in desperate need of some editing, and the beginning is slow. Overall, it's a wonderful surprise, this movie is highly recommended to all.Similar Movie: Imagine Kung Fu Hustle with absolutely no kung fu. Just silliness.

This movie is a romance disguised as a comedic ghost story. It's a great chick flick for the lonely girl, whether she be a single girl, or her boyfriend or husband is away. It's hard to have any sympathy for the main character at first, but within 30 minutes you are drawn in. The movie never gets scary. It gets very amusing, often slightly absurd, then very very sweet. Very good character development and subtle plot twists. If you are a sensitive person, this movie can almost bring you to tears. Don't watch this movie with expectations, just let yourself be drawn in and it is a wonderful curl up with a carton of ice cream movie. Great for a Girl's Night In.

I have to say that this movie caught me by surprise. I thought it was going to be a horror movie, along the lines of The Eye and it was not. It is a fresh comedy with a romantic twist. It is character-driven, very real characters that you can relate to. Sammi Cheng who plays May and Chi-Sing Lam who plays Sam put in great performances, both very funny. The movie begins in a graveyard with the burial of Daniel, his family and ex-girlfriend sobbing over his grave. That's when the ex-girlfriend who helped Daniel and his family build a very successful purse business learns of Daniel's quickie marriage of 7 days to May. She now gets his inheritance, and she turns out to be a smoking, drinking and lazy gold digger. One night while drinking and driving, she smashes Daniel's car and meets Ken, a ghost, who scares her soul back into her body to continue living. After an operation, she realizes that she can now see ghosts with her left eye and Ken will not leave her alone.I recommend this movie as light-hearted fun, and it will definitely suck you into it.
