I watched this movie a few years back and it was really good to watch. If you are a fan of Superman the animated series then you might enjoy this movie especially since they kept the designs from DCAU and the had made the animation slightly brighter. The voice acting, on the other hand, wasn't as good but still good that they got most of the cast back. But through DC logic what does not make sense is when Lois was dying and Superman was too late to save her with the antidote it didn't work. But when Superman kiss Lois thinking that she is dead she comes back to life. What logic is this?It was a good movie overall though.

I've read most of the reviews here and 90% of them are actually saying that this film destroyed the Animated Series and it's a disgrace to Superman fans. I have to disagree on that even tho i'm not the biggest Superman fan ever i still thought this movie was pretty cool the only thing that bagged me was Brainiac which i loved his look and this film destroyed it completely i mean he looked more like Robocain from Robocop 2 instead of Brainiac other than that i had fun with it and i thought it was pretty cool although i have to agree that the Animated Series was 10 times better if i had to pick my favorite Superman film then that has to be Superman: Doomsday but this one was also pretty good but definitely not my favorite.

This movie completely ignores the original series as well as the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited series to come up with a badly written story that completely rewrites Lex Luthor's and Brainiac's personalities.Clancey Brown is SORELY missed, Booth Power's is horrible.Lex Luthor is a buffoon and Brainaic has been changed from calculated computer into a 2 dimensional 2-bit super villain. The only good thing about this film is they got rid of Jimmy Olsen's mullet.Step 1 when writing a story set in pre-existing continuity, research said continuity.

This movie had some great potential. Luthor and Brainiac together against the Man of Steel--a great team up. The voice talent was solidly done; Tim Daly and Dana Delaney turned in performances worthy of the original series. However, the movie never lived up to the premise's potential. First of all, Lex Luthor's lines could have been written by a high school freshman. Instead of being the intellectual equal of the Last Son of Krypton, Lex Luthor became a buffoon more suited for matching wits with Bizarro. The cheap one-liners and bad jokes coming from him (Get the tiki torches lets have a luau because Superman is gone???)took the great idea and killed the story. I am only glad that Clancy Brown did not return to voice the part--it would have killed any serious fan to hear him deliver such stale dialogue. Also, the depiction of the Phantom Zone was poorly done. All in all, the film left me wondering what happened to the Timm-Dini standards of excellence.
