This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

This is one movie that is sheer perfection because it is exactly what it is supposed to be - over the top, dramatic, and a light hearted spoofy take on old world Bollywood with heartwarming characters and superb acting. Everything about this movie is spot on. Fantastic music, dialogues, and superb hamming by all actors. Hard to believe that this is Deepika Padukone's first movie as she more than holds her own against the inimitable SRK, who is at his absolute finest whether he's being silly, sensitive, or insanely dramatic. Kirron Kher is her usual superb self as the 'filmy ma', and Arjun Rampal smoother than well aged scotch as the archetypal villain. Shreyas Talpade is the real screen stealer though, for his finely nuanced performance as the hero's best friend. I love watching this one when I really want to remind myself that life doesn't have to be serious all the time, and that if things aren't okay as yet, it means 'picture abhi baaki hai mere dost!

I'm an American, and have not seen very many Bollywood films -- Three Idiots, Saariwaya, and one or two others in passing -- but I know a spoof when I see it. This movie was a romp -- overdone theatrics, over-the-top musical numbers, and lots of wink-wink-nudge-nudge allusions. Actually, I probably missed most of those -- but I got enough of them to keep smiling all the way through. Nicely plotted, plenty of really good catch-lines, and warm-hearted at the core. I especially like the end credits, where crew members and the usually faceless support people did a kind of 'red carpet' appearance, to the applause and cheers of the mob. Great bit at the very end, where the director/writer got out of the tuk-tuk for her moment, and everybody was .... well, no spoilers here. Just watch the film. Well worth your time.

I love the concept of the film and it was the best 3 hours of my time watching this, story line is great and the characters shows most of the colors to the people watching.SRK and Deepika's acting were very good they project the character very well, Arjun's villainous acting makes me feel the characters evil personality. Others were even great including many various Bollywood celebrities appearing from the song number and the filmfare scene.Some of the actors being nominated in the movie should have been in more focus or maybe a bit more camera time such as Abhishek's grumbling or even Akshay Kumar's tantrum in a deleted scene portion. There was totally no time limit for this movie because the story line has no absolute fillers and it only shows that it was an amazing story ever told. The ending should have been extended on what happen to the both of the protagonist and sandy.This so far has been a great film to watch due to the colorful story line being involve so I must recommend this to millions of people :)

i was saw this movie in Bahrain country release date film.with Arabian subtitles.I love whole film story line.There is beginning my overseas job career that time. who are doing my caretaker job Mr.Kumar(Komurellu we call him)..not interest with my hobbit. But my attitude was different..i never consider his feeling about me.when early time i was slept in his room he ordering me make tea & serve all of us.here is my ego going hurt. This my class mate & close friends looking me very different..........1 time i requested for stay in his Room i didn't allowed me. go and stick with Company provided Accommodation...my conscious noticing these all humiliationsBut my destiny chosen wrong path in 2009 i am back in India with low wages salaries.........Mallik/Mumbai
